Group E - England, India, New Zealand, South Africa

whistling in the wind?

he is being a positive indian fan, not a pessimist like you. you might talk like this to avoid disappointment in the event India lose, but its always better to have optimism where you know the team can live up to it.

yes, ok. but i dont like to get my hopes up high, i know india are a good side who can beat australia on their day but before i used to even diss the oposition team because i really wanted india to win, but now i'm a bit more down to earth.

So did the West Indies of the 80s.

Was that quoted from my comment?West Indies might have had a one dimensional attack but they had 3 or 4 world class bowlers and let's be honest SA have one at best.

on cricinfo it looked like india might play the same team. i just dont understand that, they need an extra batsmen, hope cricinfo is wrong and if they right i just hope india win and if they are wrong i still hope india win

SA should progress with ease in this group. They are the form team, De Villers should get back to opening with Smith that combo is a deadly one.

The Indian 12 for the New Zealand game has been announced with Piyush Chawla replacing Rohit Sharma. So there is going to be no change in the batting department tomorrow. The only change could be Piyush Chawla in place of Ajit Agarkar or one of RP and Sreesanth.

HAHA, I'm sure Afridi will get on top against Aussies this time around, remember 2005 Pakistan in Australia ODI match? ;)

There is another thread for Pakistan related discussions...

Are you calling me not down to earth?
Theres a difference between dissing the opposition and being positive and liking your own team..

I don't know. They did win comfortably but Bangla were pasting them all over the place at times. A better team would have paced themselves better and probably would have won.

I think Dhoni's gonna stick with the same team. It looks pretty balanced if at least one of our top order can get runs. Piyush for Agarkar would be a gamble seeing that Piyush (in ODI games) goes for a bit of runs, though he gets wickets. I would be willing to try it in Durban where the pitches would be slightly damper.

I'm gonna have to basically stay awake till 6 AM if I want to watch this match in its entirety. I think I'm up for it. :)

Well on the contrary, I am planning to miss this match due to studies. Should watch the replay on DirecTV if they put it.

Hope India wins this one. Crucially important to their chances of making the semifinal. The impetus that this win could give is very important. India need to get inspired by their performance in 2003 in this same country where they had a breezy Super Eights where they beat everyone and didnt lose to anyone in that tournament except Australia (this time we should set that record straight too if we get that chance).

Chak De India! Le aao vapas World Cup (Bring back the World Cup).

Isnt it harsh on New Zealnd to play 3 matches on 3 consecutive days ?

They played Lanka yesterday.
They play India today
Tomorrow agianst South Africa !
