Group E: England, WI, SA, India

Lol. Three way battle between Saffers, India and Chirs Gayle.

Nice to see, so much pressure on West Indies, I guess everyone thinks it was a fluke they made it. Lots of talk about England beating West Indies in recent times, so what can be the worst case scenario: The Aussies are done for, and without any injuries to players, good for them, West Indies lose go home, frankly we have nothing to lose, ENGLAND, huh, Ashes, what if say, an English player were to get injured, so close to the Ashes, this could be real sour grapes, in the end it might just be a double edge sword for England at this time, they appear to be the team with the most to lose indirectly!!!!

WestIndian, you have a knack of starting an argument when there's no-one around.

Now that is just the thing I can't take with some of you guys, it's all well and good to have a field day on behalf of the West Indies, just make mention of England and suddenly, the Union Jack is out and it's war, why is that so man?
Just tell me the argument that I have started? I have painted a scenario and a very possible one, so truth be told, you might not like it and I understand why, but admit it, it's just one of the things that can happen!!!!

It's just a 40 overs match. Anything can happen in such short time. If West Indies go through to the next round I doubt they will be thinking about their lost Test series and ODI series.

Good thing of previous West Indies match was that Gayle got some support from Fletcher.

Haha, that's what I'm talking about. I haven't mentioned England nor the West Indies. No-one seems to be directly talking to you but you still get riled up.

I don't underrate the West Indies. Any who can demolish Australia like that deserves respect.

If the Windies can fix their fielding up who knows what they could do. Gayle and Fletcher firing again will help but there are a few other guys that can rise to the occasion.

England are going to need something special to move out of this group. Probably will need SA or India to be having an off day as both sides look very good on paper.

Probably the only chance we have is if West Indies continuing their recent run of not turning up against us but then beat India, leaving 3 teams with 1 win and we snake through on run rate. But it does seem unlikely.

As for SA, they look like sweeping all before them tbh

KP's stellar innings are usually scripted for the South African boys. West Indies have 2-3 dangerous players: Gayle, Edwards and Taylor. Add to the mix Sarwan, Benn, Fletcher and Bravo and this is one pot that could explode (or implode). On paper India and South Africa but life has a strange way of suprising us when we least expect it.

Chris Gayle can beat anyone on these tiny English grounds, as he proved the other night against Australia. If India/England/South Africa are taking him lightly, they will be the ones going home. He's got some support down the order from Bravo, as well, who was pretty useful in the IPL (though not as good as the first one).

India will need their bowlers to fire and Gambhir to find his fluency.

Tiny grounds?

I thought these grounds were quite big.

They're big compared to New Zealand, I suppose. :D

But they're pretty tiny compared to South Africa, where the IPL was just held, as well as many subcontinent grounds. I remember seeing a 60m hit going for six yesterday. Players who have power (such as Yuvraj, the Morkels, Ross Taylor) can clear the boundary even with a mis-timed shot.

I thought that overall the IPL fields were a lot smaller then the grounds in England, I didn't see any grounds that required a 85M hit to get to the boundry. Some parts of the grounds will be small, but overall I feel that these grounds are larger.
