Group E: England, WI, SA, India

I think the SA spinners will be the danger in this tournament especially if the seamer get early wicket, no one has yet been able to get them away. Van Der Merwe in particular, who bowls a very full length and get under the bat, the sweep must be the option since you can get the ball on the full toss. England are going to struggle tomorrow since they have a history of playing spin poorly, although Pietersen, Shah, Collingwood and Foster, are better players of spin than in the past.

You are right, van der Merwe is tough is get away and so is Botha.
I really liked the way Botha bowled in the last few matches.

yea , his yorker is wicked! shame they took away his doosra

What do you call Murali then ?
Botha - to the naked eye doesnt look as if he is chucking.
Murali is legal by the ICC laws hence he is not cheating. This has been discussed over and over again, even on PC, and it has been widely published that the naked eye isn't really the best way to make out differences in degrees.

I'm not getting into this debate again but Botha's action changes when he bowls his doosra. The ICC banned it.

Would just like to say here that Murali has the might of the Asian Bloc, whereas Botha sadly does not.

Murali also has the might of staying within the laws of the game while bowling. Botha does not.

Also, have you thought why the Asian Bloc support Murali? It doesn't make sense. Murali is the spinner with the best record against India, for example (not taking into account Mendis). I'd think the BCCI would want him gone if they really wanted to abuse their power that badly. Finally, AFAIK the member nations don't vote on whether a bowler is allowed or not--it is all up to the ICC Technical Committee.

Ok Bunk It People
I predict an India and West Indies qualify for the super 8

For Botha and RVDM we have Yousuf Pathan.

I guess our team as a whole plays spinners very well. England is not exactly spinner friendly conditions although spinners are proving to be effective.

Yusuf Pathan? Lets see if he gets to bat first. And also, he doesnt seem to have even a tiny iota of consistency in his hitting. He is another Afridi but far less consistent than even Afridi, who is the biggest slogger in the world that I've ever seen. I dont think Yusuf will last until the 2011 World Cup (50-overs version). Irfan will last longer than him, but even Irfan wont last too long.

This is an interesting suggestion from Dhoni. I would like to see Yusuf Pathan opening against West Indies and England. He hasn't batted enough in this tournament. And he is being wasted down the order. It's better having him then there then getting a slow 30 runs from Gambhir.

"We had options for back-up openers, Yusuf and I were also spoken about. But Rohit was in good form in the IPL and has grabbed his chance with both hands."
MS Dhoni speaks about India's new opener, Rohit Sharma
