are they releasing it at different times in other countries??

Time Zone differences?
I got mine on the 21st. The shops opened at 3am for us. Got mine at around 7AM, even though i got up at 3.
Damn Jet-Lag.

We found out that Tom Riddle was Voldermort in Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets-Book 2, lol.
Yeah Tom Riddle was Voldemort in Book 2, Tom Riddle's Diary was one of the horcruxes.

Fred dieing sucked. So did Lupin and Tonks, right after they got a kid as well!!
Sad.
Yeah it was, but to be honest, it was going to be somebody. And Lupin and Tonks dying was better than Ron and Hermione.

Thanks for the clarifications, Kshitiz, makes it much clearer. One more thing I would like to clarify is how did Dumbledore manage to "beat" Grindelwald in that epic duel, if Grindelwald possessed the Elder Wand. Was the legend that the owner of the Elder Wald could not be defeated in a duel just a myth?

I believe it was a coordinated release throughout the world so that they released within a few hours of each other. I understand it was released at midnight in the UK? I believe it was released at 6 AM in India, which is 1.30 AM in England.

People got their hands on it before, though, because a copy was leaked on the internet.

It's alright, SD92 told me on MSN that he thought the book was releasing at midnight on 22nd July, not the 21st. That's why he's been confused.

I started Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix yesterday! As I said, I have a lot of catching up to do before I get to the latest one!

2) The Ravenclaw Diedem being the 6th horocrux. Again, wasn't mentioned enough earlier bar that one time 'ThHe bust with the silly wig and tiara' thing.

That part was really silly though.
I mean that was perhaps the only Horcrux which did not have any protection at all.

Also, I always wanted Neville to torture Bellatrix, and make here go insane like his parents. I always figured he would in the end. Ah well.

Molly Weasley took revenge on the Death Eaters by killing Bellatrix.
Fabian and Gidoen Prewett were Molly's brothers.

yeh just a myth. if the owner couldn't be defeated the wand couldn't be passed on

and to iceman_waugh

Voldermort was extremely arrogant he believed no-one else knew what the room of requirement was, or that it even existed, he also believed no-one would know he found the diadem, in fact it was still called the lost diadem for a few years after he had found it

What?!?!?

............. i thogutn two main characters died but they dont really apart from voldemort

Are you kidding, Remus and Dora died!!!!! Flippin 'eck, how can you think they're not main characters, and what about Fred!!!:crying

Oh, and yea, I have a problem too.
My understanding is that when he killed Harry, he damaged the container of one of his Horocruxes, hence destroying it, but Harry's soul still lived.
There is Question 1: how did he return then? Is it because he possed all 3 Hallows rightly?
And he returns, with his body apparantly unscathed. We also lear that the killing curse doesn't harm the body.
So Question 2: How did the Horocrucx in Harry get destryoed if the body wasn't harmed?

Easy- Dumbledore explained it to Hary in the place he assumed to be Kings cross.
Voldemort tried to kill Harry with the Avada Kedavra curse, ridding Harry or the piece of Voldemort inside him. But Harry survived because of a connection through blood that he and Voldemort share.
Voldemort took some of Harry's blood when he returned in Goblet of Fire in the graveyard and clearly that blood connection does not work for Voldemort.

I thought the two main characters were Voldemort and Snape, main doesn't exactly mean characters on good side, it means characters who are important to the plot.

Horcruxes:
Tom Riddle's Diary
Marvolo Gaunt'sRing
Hufflepuff's Cup
Rawenclaw's Diadem
Slytherin's Locket
Nagini
Harry

Obviously JKR has made a mistake in the books.
In book 6,she says that there are 6 Horcruxes and not 7.
She also mentioned that the 7th part resides in Voldemort's body.
So how come we have 7 Horcuxes then ?

If that is the case, then Vodlemort should'nt have existed at all.
