Hindi Cinema Discussion

Just finished watching 'ABCD'. Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoaaaaaa!!!!! I was expecting to switch the movie off after 10-15 mins, but by the time the movie ended, I was jumping off my seat whistling, crying, dancing, clapping, etc. I am not exaggerating it! Top line entertainer this, with an excellent thread of top notch dancing being used so smartly and cleverly in the film. BRILLIANT BRILLIANT, ABSOLUTELY FUC***G BRILLIANT!!

The guys who danced their lungs and hearts out for this film, I surrender myself. Prabudeva, that interval block dance was testimony to why you are called India's Micheal Jackson. Well, I have seen MJ dance, but I love you more.... Remo D' Souza the director pulled off a coup by putting together a world class show of dancing in this film. Taran Adarsh reviewed this movie as 'The Dabaang of Dancing'. My foot!!!! Gross insult to this film. This film has a much better story, packages the entertainment in a much better manner, and leaves you on a high like very few other. I wonder how I missed this one in the theatres. Obviously, there are predictable passages through the story and some resembling scenes from the South, but the packaging is incredibly fresh and doesn't let you think of all small tiny inspirations and speed breaks.

6.5/5

P.s: I need the blu-ray of this! Just for those dancing blocks.

I cannot agree more to what Sai has said. After seeing Step up all series, I must admit I had no expectations from this movie. I had watched Evil Dead the new part and just wanted to sleep peacefully so started this film which is now available on Netflix.

Prabhudeva has acted brilliantly and fantastic piece of work from Remo. Dances were brilliant and the Ganpati song actually gave me goosebumps

I cannot agree to both of you. The movie was just above average for me. The dance sequences were spectacular, but no one could actually act(Not that I was expecting them to). The 3D mechanism was quite well used, but nothing close to Step Up 3. There was absolutely no need of the accident scene. It would have been much better if it was around 15 minutes short. How can you even like Prabhudeva's acting? For me he was just very very dull, maybe because he can't speak Hindi fluently, but certainly nothing to call it 'brilliant'.

I watched the film in the theater.

I guess you were comparing it to some 'Step up' thing (I don't even know what it is), probably that's why.

I thought everyone acted very well, esp. the kids. The good thing abt Prabudeva's role was that they made his character come from Chennai which made it real. Initially, his Hindi was annoying, but once they established his character as a Chennaiite, it fixed my expectations. As far as acting and expressions go, Prabudeva was perfect.
