3 idiots is a decent movie. too many references taken from MBBS.
its like rajkumar hirani used the MBBS one as a superscript while writing the movie.

none of the main cast look even near college going age and kareena
just makes it worse. also, boman irani's character is too caricaturish.

the baby kicking after "All is well" is infinite facepalms put together.

but the movie does have some saving moments like "Balatkar", the guys reaching late for the exam, madhavan convincing his dad of wanting to do photography etc..

Did you read all reviews before going to the film (thereby putting your expectations up in the skies)? Frankly, I am surprised that you use words like "saving moments". The minimum rating that the movie could get is 3.5/5 (which is above average, and even thats low). I am a big fan of the Munnabhai series, but while watching the film barring 1-2 scenes, it didnt remind me of Munnabhai the way you put it. The movie was an entertainer and meant to be an entertainer. And it gave people double the amount of entertainment that it promised.

People who do not love '3 Idiots' are like 1 in 10,000 (so far gauging the responses).

tbh I also didnt like the movie too much. Out of Rang De Basanti, Lagaan, Taare Zameen Paar and 3 Idiots, 3 idiots would have to be the least enjoyed and sending the message across to the audience.

The movie is still better then any of the other tripe that is released these days but I feel it wasnt powerful enough as it was in his other movies......

fine,i'll take back the "saving moments" remark.
but i still stand by my review.

although it is definitely 100 times better than most of the shitty bollywood movies, it fails when compared with
TZP,RDB,MBBS and the likes.

am ok with being the 1 in 10,000. atleast am happy i dont follow the typical herd mentality.

Yeah, I rate RDB and TZP higher than 3 Idiots for sure. I dont rate MBBS higher because this film had more ROFTL moments for me than the Munnabhai series (though I love that series too). Also, MBBS had Sanjay Dutt who is always a major turn off even in great films. RDB and TZP rate higher because they had more drama and they touched upon sensitive issues. Always sensitive issues, if touched upon well, generate more impact. But 3 Idiots is a worthy film that can be placed in the leagues of those Aamir films as far as the quality of the films go. Again, its my opinion. I dont think people are saying they like the movie because others like it (the herd mentality). Just that they really like it. The response for the film has been overwhelmingly positive and thats what I wanted to point out.

For me, its definitely one of the best films seen in recent times. Again, since it ventured out to entertain, it wont end up like as a classic like Lagaan, RDB or TZP but it can be of that league in terms of quality.

It lacked jokes, most of them were heard and taken from joke books, like the space pen one. the pregnant delivery scene is just = no significant message from the movie.

I have watched the pregnant delivery scene alone like 7-8 times. According to me, it was one of the best scenes in Hindi films that I've seen in recent times (in terms of the drama and excitement). The build up to that scene, the background music, the escalation of drama everything was great. The kid crying after "All is Well" is a bit over (as Kshithiz said) but otherwise, it was the best scene of the film.

You have never been in India nor do you know about our educational system? I can show you not one but quite a few. Just curious, ARE YOU A SRK FANATIC? After a long time, people are laughing their hearts out and you say "it lacked jokes". I can agree if you said it didnt make as much impact on you, but "lacked jokes"? Thats BS CRAP!

3 days 100 crores is a good collection right?


it's a OK type movie not typical Aamir's perfectionist one.


btw it's only Aamir's who i like the other Khans are crap.

You gotta be kidding me! Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai were far better than 3 Idiots. I liked 3 Idiots (you can read that few pages back) but saying it's better than the Munna Bhai series is just unthinkable. Also, Sunjay Dutt's acting in Munna Bhai was much better than Aamir's acting in this film. The story line in both the films were far better when compared to the story line of 3 Idiots. To add to that, Vidya Balan's acting was 100 times more better when compared to Kareena Kapoor's.

That seen was the weakest part of the whole film. Apart from what he made from the vacuum cleaner, everything sucked about that seen. Also, the part where the baby became alright after saying 'All is Well' was pathetic to say the least.

Though, I still liked the movie. It was the best movie of last year. And, it is still worthy of 4 stars.

I just came back watching 3 Idiots and I loved the movie.

The 'Balatkar' scene is by far one of the funniest scenes that I've seen. The comic timing off all the actors was impeccable. Aamir Khan looked like a college student. Though, I strongly feel his acting could be a bit better. Madhavan impressed me by his acting. Kareena Kapoor was average to say the least. Boman Irani was fantastic.

It felt as though I was watching Munna Bhai 3. It surely is the best movie of the year and is followed by Kaminey/Love Aaj Kal.

Munna Bhai MBBS was classic all the actors fitted perfectly into their roles in that film. But in 3 idiots, i dont know! I wasnt quite sure of Kareena's role in the movie either, she drifted in and out of the movie still somehow managed to make a lovestory out of it. I also think the principals punishments and dialogue were a bit crude and unecessary, they were exaggerating a bit too much.

Well I loved the Ragging and the 'Balatkar' scene in the movie. Pregnant see was a bit over but it doesnt take anything out of the movie. And the movie had a message, and it was similar to that Taare Zameen Par had. That was 'just do what your heart tells you to do, dont do anything if you are forced.'
