Hindi Cinema Discussion

Note to people who are going to watch the movie : One of the crucial scenes of the movie is just after the interval. So, don't take much time collecting your popcorns and pepsis.

I guess you missed that scene? :p

So, I watched the film yesterday and I am pleased to tell you guys that I am not disappointed at all. The film starts on slow note, but in a matter of 5 minutes it picks its speed. The acting has been phenomenal by both the lead actors (i.e Shahrukh and Kajol). Amongst recent 9/11 movies, this one is special, simply because it teaches you a lesson without a bullet being shot.

The movie could be a 5 star material if its ending was a bit different. I'd say that the film has an abrupt ending.

My rating : 4/5

Enjoy the movie!

Wow, thats what I want to hear. And thats what I have been hearing from the reviews and a few who have watched the film in India (my friends).

@ KC: Melodrama is my area. I like that 'tug in the heart strings' kind of scenes as long as its not completely overdone. Many times, I have heard people say 'this is too melodramatic' (e.g. K3G) and I watch it and I get emotional and really like that scene.

tbh, am tired of these whole 9/11 aftermath movies that are being made lately..
kurbaan, new york, MNIK etc.:facepalm

Maybe ur tired of seeing YRF and Dharma tread that path again and again. But they have been like that. They take a route and beat it down to death and move on only very late. E.g. all that Yash Raj's Punjabi tinged movies, they still do them even now (i.e. Dil Bole Hadippa).

But this one sounds different

well, am not very excited about this movie..... even after the rave reviews.
otherwise i would've posted my review last night itself..\

although i might watch this in a couple of days if my friends manage to tag me along.

am waiting for Sid's review on MNIK. that should be interesting. ;)

i dont buy popcorns from theater as tend to be very expensive so i mainly take my own pop corn and hided soft drink. They try to stop me previous times i always say like we will throw in garbage etc and he listens mainly we go allot in that theater even the movie is not that big. so he know us.

Going for MNIK tomorrow even though I don't want to. JK dont worry I will post a review which no one will like ;)

Saw MNIK today.

I have to say movie takes 5 minutes or so to understand the story. There is one twist in the story which wont be liked by many parents. Although the movie has a message for all the people who thing all 'muslims' are terrorist. Overall a nice movie.

I would give it

4 out of 5.

Watched Ishqiya or whatever yesterday. Terrible movie, didn't know what was going on. 1/5

I didnt even go near the movie. I am not a fan of Vishal Bharadwaj's films. I couldnt stand Omkara and Kaminey (didnt watch more than 10 mins or so of Omkara and left the theatre before Kaminey's climax).

Waiting for your review of Rann, rohit! You said u were going to watch it.

We know that. With Sid, its always "expect the unexpected". Everybody would like something, and you will post a completely opposite view.:laugh

Oh, I saw Rann too. Very boring. Wasn't really paying attention so that could've been why (was surfing the web as I usually do when watching movies). Seemed like something you really had to pay attention to.

Boring overall.

God, I hate when people do that. So annoying seeing those white lights flash in front of your eyes.

Rann is a movie that you got to pay attention to. If you do, you might find it interesting.

Saw Kites trailer. Very unimpressive! Dont have high hopes on the movie after seeing thatr trailer. Hrithik is getting monotonous with his expressions and acting style. Maybe time for him to try a really different movie like how he did with 'Koi Mil Gaya'

There must be a battle to get it?
