If you select yourself as a specialist batsman (not all-rounder) in career, do you get asked to bowl at all?

I have just played one match. Have taken 3 for 90 in first match in 13 overs and scored 4 runs :p

Yeah, you do. But it's a very rare occurrence. I'm into my second year and I've only been asked to bowl once. Kinda wish I could bowl more often though.

Should be able to choose before you start your career whether you can be used as an occasional bowler.

I remember it being mentioned that the lower in the batting order you choose to be, the more chances of bowling you will get. It was a while ago so it might have changed.

Plus, isn't that what the batting all rounder option is for?

Some people want to only be the "partnership breaker", I'd imagine - every 2nd or 3rd game get a trundle.

This is my best performance so far in a 4 day match, performing both with bat & bowl.

Great Bowler, terrible batsman haha

Hi Bigant Studios,

Firstly thanks for the amazing game!

I'm a batting all-rounder who's essentially a tail-ender who bats at 5 now. I average 12 with the ball in first class and 9 with the bat. Although I have now scored my first 50! I have just been selected for county 4 day and p40 cricket which is cool. I've probably played 70hrs so I know the game pretty well now.

I thought I'd raise some issues here. Tell me if they should be somewhere else

  • Runouts are infuriating (especially at the non-strikers end on 49!) haha. Casually walking into your crease when the runs essentially been completely and the balls about to hit the stumps is so annoying (apparenlty these have been patched)

Can't check the fatigue meter in career mode for some reason

Bowling is a little too easy, although I kind of like it this way now (I've turned assistance off and it feels so intuitive it's amazing! Well done)

Cant change your, or unlock new apparel it'd be nice to take your fielding glasses off when you bowl. Also be able to wear different clothes for different formats, I want to wear my broad brim in 4 dayers

Lastly this issue of checking the field when you're batting. I think a batting radar would ruin the simulation feel of the game. Instead I'd like a green arrow or something to appear on top of each fielder when you go into 1st person perspective. Then you wouldn't miss a fielder, and you'd still have to look where they were (no radar in real cricket)

I'm happy with the batting difficulty, I'm bad at batting for the same reason as in real life, I dont have the temperament for it. I'm bad the game's not haha

Anyway, thanks for the amazing game. Can't wait to try it out with the new patch.

Just racked up BBI against glamorgan playing t20 as northamptonshire. (5/10) who also imploded for 47 from 6 overs...

motm went to Kyle Coetzer who hit 132 from 65 balls...

Edit: Nek minnit took a hat trick vs warwickshire finished on 6/20!

Right, just fired up career mode last night for the first time after the patch was released. Firstly I was pretty disappointed that I couldn't choose to be from an on disc associate nation. Do you think this is something they could be patched in with the additional domestic structures @BigAntStudios?

Secondly, wow! What a debut, peppered with 88mph bouncers by Lancashire's Kyle Jarvis who got me out twice, then took match total of 13/107 to set up what looked a comfortable chase only for us to collapse in the final innings and lose.

The most fun I have had in a sports game EVER despite *cough* my inability to represent Ireland.

Is their any way in checking or changing the difficulty you have set, I'm sure I selected pro, but on my spin bowling meter the good green section seems to big which normally means a lower difficulty.

Hope I selected pro I want a challenge not it too easy
