Patch Fails

I have finished the 2007 season with Australia and it crashes everytime i try to start the 2008 season. I am aware there is an area in most of the forgein international teams. when i go to internet games to get the patch it works right up to the end where it says patch fails and nothing happens the game still wont go any further.

does anyone know the problem or if there is another way besides going to internet games that you can get the patch.

99.9% of problems involved with updating are because the files have been modified for some reason or see (4) below. To save on space the patched files are just the differences. If any files (even if not needed to be updated) are different the update will fail as it assumes it is the wrong version. So if you changed backgrounds, added commentary, hacked the database using ArtMoney, etc. this is the problem.

To restore the original files you have to

1) Uninstall the game.
2) Delete *ALL* files and directories in the ICC 2006 folder apart from the Saves folder which has your saved games in it. This step is crucial and is normally the one missed out. UNINSTALLING ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH.
3) Re-install the game in to exactly the same folder so it will pick up your saved games.
4) Disable any virus software protection. Norton Anti-virus is known to be incompatible with the patch and silently prevents it from working.
5) Download the update again by selecting Internet Game.
6) Do not switch to another application whilst downloading the patch. It is recommended you run ICC full screen.
7) Re-enable virus software protection.

Note if you have the Softwrap version you will have to enter your reference number again after updating. This is normal and can not be prevented. Note the update also works fine if you are still in the middle of your trial period.

I will state the following as a matter of fact but I am not implying that anyone posting here is doing this - 'The update will not work if you are using a No CD patch or a warez version'.

Note if the problem you are having is that the download gets stuck at x% then whilst the above method would work (and is needed if any files are changed) you can try deleteing the sr607-609.cpf or em608-610.cpf in your ICC 2006 directory. You should only have 1 of them.

The patch can not be made available independently of the game as there are several different versions of ICC 2006 and each one requires a different patch.

If after following these instructions you still can not get the patch to work then another process may be modifying the files. Try running the update on a different/friends PC.

I can confirm that the new ICC (Ashes Edition 2006) does NOT have the 2008 crash bug.

Not enough ODIs in the game i'm playing Sri lanka at most it will around 20 or less games per year any solutions for this....cos that not real infact we have 12 or more test per year....any help...

Can't Access Internet Games.

I have a problem. In the Triangluar series (aus, nz, eng) of 2006/2007, I've just advanced into the finals by beating NZ. I saved and exited and I came back and it came up with next series West Indies so I pressed the next button and it simmed the Australia vs England finals matches! It didn't even let me play them... I exitted immediately because I want to play them. Any help?

Exactly my problem... jus finished Home series against Ausies as Pak and game crashes as i progress into 2008...

i get this error also and i followed all the steps that were told to uninstall the game proper;y but still i get this error when patching god some one help

I get it like that when I press the window button to get back off the game while still playing. Just press the window button again and then click back on the game and it usually returns to normal
