I wonder what will actually be new about it (bar the squads) and if they are planning any radical changes ?

Therein lies the million dollar question. They have to change the game or it is the same as the previous one, as they do with FIFA and PES. Obviously the squads will be different, but sometimes they decide to tinker with the gameplay, menus or such that can go badly wrong.

Good example might be (for me) CM 06 vs CM 07.

Positives of CM07*

Up to date player list
Realism with signing non-EU players ie they had to qualify for a permit
You could no longer 'approach to sign' lots of quality youngsters
Market value adhered to more in bidding/selling
You had to scout some players to see all their ratings

Negatives

Menus and navigation rubbish
Realism with signing non-EU players ie they had to qualify for a permit
You could no longer 'approach to sign' lots of quality youngsters
Game was VERY slow
Players kept pestering to know why they weren't playing - even when INJURED
Player comparison was cr ap
You had to scout some players to see all their ratings
Graphics on the replays was cr ap
To add 'realism' it was harder to delay transfers and some players changed their minds

The overall point is they made a lot of changes and few were improvements. The killer was the time it took to play, (football) management games need to be relatively quick and you should be getting in up to 10 games an hour or you'll spend a week playing a season. In making these changes the games manufacturers often forget that not everyone wants all the accessories as it were, some just want to sign a few new players and go into the season to pit their XI against the rest

Every player older by some more months will be a new feature. Okay, it has been only some months since ICC 3 has been released and i dont think there is going to be an all new game engine.I just want the old line and length system back.I guess it is not that hard to make.

i want the old graphics 3D was rubbish

also the ability to go fast between overs rather than the ICC3 pace

I think the over rate of ICC 06 is nifty, getting through 100 - 110 overs per day. More than any test you'll see nowadays!

doubt that ther will be much change from icc3, onli coz they jus said of a release, expectin jus a roster update, hope they do change it tho

Things that aren't hard and they can change imo:

- 20/20 WC
- more sixes
- statistical sorting
- complete international schedule, like chappell/hadley trophy, champions trophy.

wishlist
- give Australia some decent regen bowlers!
- more stats, career SR for batting, list of high scores, best bowling, career stats kept like most runs in tests.
- go back to icc 2006 game interface

I somehow doubt that the IPL will be their top priority, they would surely go for a proper domestic season first? And even that is unlikely. I expect it to stay English for this year.

Two comments on that :-

1) given the money and hype surrounding the IPL then the rights to include it in games will probably cost a bomb. If they can afford to pay for the rights then it might take some time, depends much on how far they have got in setting the game up and how much it would take to include IPL.

2) they may have already made a number of changes and if they've done 'enough to keep the punter happy' then they may have IPL as the main 'new thing' for the next in the series.

And I really wish games and music people would dump the numbering of games, Now that's what I call muzak 999 comes out soon, can't they just append the year and seasons if they release more than one a year? eg Now Summer 2008, Now Winter 2008 etc. That way you can know what album to buy if you want a particular year/era, I see PES finally did it in 2008. It also helps mums buy their ickle kiddies the RIGHT version as you go for the latest one and who knows what number is the latest if not in the know if you know what I mean...........

IPL can be included.Just give it(IPL Competition) fake names in a file. And make it such that if the file is deleted we get the real names. This was how some names in Cricket Coach 2007 were made available.

all these things sound great. but i think they will only add the 2020 world cup then update the roster.

id really like an ipl mode wit possibilities of bidding on players across the world. and online ipl leagues with friends. but i dont see how they would get around the clashes with the english county season and because an ipl season is only 6 weeks out of a year people would end up in 2100 and there would be no real current players. they would also have to have a seperate database for the ipl for the players that are retired and only play ipl.

id really like to see a detailed records page and the option to keep players records saved within the game after they retire.
