I wonder what will actually be new about it (bar the squads) and if they are planning any radical changes ?
Therein lies the million dollar question. They have to change the game or it is the same as the previous one, as they do with FIFA and PES. Obviously the squads will be different, but sometimes they decide to tinker with the gameplay, menus or such that can go badly wrong.
Good example might be (for me) CM 06 vs CM 07.
Positives of CM07*
Up to date player list
Realism with signing non-EU players ie they had to qualify for a permit
You could no longer 'approach to sign' lots of quality youngsters
Market value adhered to more in bidding/selling
You had to scout some players to see all their ratings
Negatives
Menus and navigation rubbish
Realism with signing non-EU players ie they had to qualify for a permit
You could no longer 'approach to sign' lots of quality youngsters
Game was VERY slow
Players kept pestering to know why they weren't playing - even when INJURED
Player comparison was cr ap
You had to scout some players to see all their ratings
Graphics on the replays was cr ap
To add 'realism' it was harder to delay transfers and some players changed their minds
The overall point is they made a lot of changes and few were improvements. The killer was the time it took to play, (football) management games need to be relatively quick and you should be getting in up to 10 games an hour or you'll spend a week playing a season. In making these changes the games manufacturers often forget that not everyone wants all the accessories as it were, some just want to sign a few new players and go into the season to pit their XI against the rest
