Even South Africa - arguable the best hosts in terms of organizing a tournament - can not get everything together in less then a month!

Sadly its either going to be a bad tournament or no tournament whatsoever.

ICC gives all clear but fears remain

Doubts lingered over the fate of the Champions Trophy with the Australian Cricketers' Association telling its members not to travel to Pakistan even as the ICC said the tournament would proceed as planned.

While Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive, was confirming in London that the tournament would stay in Pakistan, and saying it was up to the individual boards to decide on participation, Paul Marsh, the chief executive of the ACA, said he didn't believe it was safe.

He is now saying its upto "individual boards to deicide" if this thing (back ouy from tournament)was done by India (BCCI) or any Asian countries, there would have been huge issue on that, ICC has always been very kind to fair people...

The resignation of Pakistan's president Pervez Musharraf has added another element to the Champions Trophy equation

The Pakistan Cricket Board is adamant the Champions Trophy will not be moved despite the real threat of teams pulling out of next month's tournament. The ICC said in London on Tuesday the safety and security situation in the country was "satisfactory", but before the announcement the Australian Cricketers' Association (ACA) said it would not be recommending its players attend the event

Geo News is reporting there are no confirmed player pull outs from the Engalnd squad, and England will be sending a team, as will Cricket South Africa (at this stage)

CSA have already named their confirmed 15 man squad that will travel to Pakistan. No pull outs from the South African camp at this stage.

So, Bangladesh in for Australia, and Ireland in for New Zealand.

I reckon Bangladesh COULD win a game, and Ireland well.... we need one bad team to make the others look good.

Shame really, because Australia are just throwing it away.

If Australia and NZ pull out, they should invite Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ireland and Scotland also, if those 2 are considered giants, then i hope these 5 teams can make up for them

Better hope Pakistan don't lose to Ireland again.

New Zealand decide at the end of this week if they're going. I hope we don't. How can you expect the players to feel safe and have a good time over there. They just won't. I hope Australia pulls out as well. NZ and Australia should schedule some ODI's in the meantime on non-terrorist land. Invite South Africa. Do a nice short tri-series with the top 3 ranked.

SA and England are engaged in a series at the moment and it doesn't surprise me they haven;t commented yet. I'd say there's a big chance there will be problems with them also.

Oh wow, do you even know what you're saying?

You're saying everyone in Pakistan is a terrorist? What a major slur to make.

I can play that game too. The ICC Champions Trophy will be held on non-rapist, non-murderer, non-kidnappers land. Invite Bangladesh and Ireland. Do a nice 8 team tournament with 8 of the top 10 cricket teams.

CSA have already announced they are touring Pakistan, and no players have asked to be omitted as of yet. They are prepared to tour, having toured in 2007.

England are also in a better position to come than Australia & NZ, having come in 2005.

So you see, it's gonna be only you guys left out. And who cares? Our ICC Champions Trophy will be held on non-rapist, non-murderer, non-kidnappers land.

You see, two can play at that game.

I think you misunderstood, you can't deny tat there aren't terrorists in Pakistan, he didn't call all pakistanis terrorists. Also, I'm pretty sure there has been rapes, Murders and Kidnappings in Pakistan. Grow Up.

I do Hope NZ goes since we have such a strong one day side, Same with Australia. But If they don't feel safe, you can't ask nor expect them to go

If you had a brain, you would be dangerous.

What does the ICC Champions Trophy have to do with Mohammad Asif?

Asif was never considered in the 30 man squad, and is not in the 15 man squad.

Regarding the Australians and New Zealand teams, since South Africa are positive about touring and England are still "open-minded" and are willing to come as long as nothing else major occurs.

Actually this picture describes the situation best.

Now enough is enough, if the ICC Task Force are giving a 100% security confirmation, and the Asia Cup was held successfully, then please tell me what the worry is?

If Pakistan is so dangerous, why do cricket tours occur in South Africa, where you have so many chances of being mugged, shot, killed (due to race / religous belief), or kidnapped.

I see nothing has changed since I've been gone. ZMario continues to make a fool of himself on this matter? c'est la vie.

And Zimbabwe gets the call up!!!

*crosses fingers*
