I think it is because no body wants to over rule his own cricket board.
Though your argument does make sense but People will obviously feel safe if the whole team say no.
I don't think there is any chance for personal excuses means nobody wants to die and I think it has all to do with security factors.

Champions Trophy fate: Pakistan banks on BCCI support

KARACHI: Pakistani cricket officials are pinning their hopes on Indian board's "all-out support" to stay hosts of next month's Champions Trophy.

A final decision whether the biennial event will be held in Pakistan or not will be taken at a teleconference of the International Cricket Council (ICC) board of directors on Sunday.

Senior ICC officials had a meeting in Dubai on Wednesday to discuss the concerns raised by the players from Australia, New Zealand, England and South Africa about the security situation in Pakistan. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief Sharad Pawar attended the meeting where it was decided to hold the teleconference.

SL, India,Pak,Bangladesh and possibly WI are going to vote for Pak,what is ICC going to do if major teams pull out like Aus,SA,Eng,NZ?. Lets hope that ICC finally comes to any conclusion on Sunday.

Scotland look forward to another 'big event'

Zimbabwe's confirmation that they won't take part in next year's ICC World Twenty20 in England comes as a relief for Scotland, who will replace them by virtue of finishing third in the recent qualifying tournament.

Ireland and Netherlands had earned their spot in next year's tournament by reaching the finals of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers in Belfast earlier this month. Scotland won the third place play-off, and their hopes hinged on Zimbabwe Cricket's decision.

Thanks Nikhil you are keeping us up to date :)

BCCI Should support Reality i mean whatever is in there ..if the Security is good enough to play Let CT be hosted there If not just leave and keep ICC for the decision

heard Twin Bomb Attack in Pakistan Capital killing 60+ ICC should also take this in a/c that bomb explodes everyday in day to day life in Pakistan these days ..:(

So sad hope the condition gets better ..

Like i said before, if everybody (major teams are going to pull out) pulls out, whats the fun of playing with B and C graded/minnows.

South Africa pull out

Cricket South Africa has announced that it won't be sending a team for the Champions Trophy in Pakistan, and has requested the ICC to rescheduled the tournament.

The decision came following the board's meeting with the ICC task team in Johannesburg. The team, led by Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive, made a presentation on the security situation in Pakistan and the security plans for the event.

I too thought that SA were the most likely out of England, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand to go. I expect England and Australia to pull out aswell.

Never thought that RSA would be the first to pull out.

Another thing in that Cricinfo report :
both the BCCI and PCB are firm on going ahead with the tournament in Pakistan, and have even said they could withdraw their teams if the tournament is held elsewhere

Why on earth does the BCCI have to meddle in this ???

Thats why South Africa is taking the bait and pulling out early. I now expect Australia, England and the likes to pull out before Sunday. Considering the clout the BCCI has in the ICC, likely chances are that the ICC may cave in and retain Pakistan as the venue. So the countries pulling out might force the ICC to re-think and not give too much in to the BCCI (Cricket's latest version of the mafia's)

Thats it, this tourney has to be moved to another place now. SA pulled out and now all teams will start pulling out and only Bangladesh and Ireland will be left alone to play a series in Pakistan.

BCCI - they should not Send India if More or any one get's out of it.. i also read there's a Meeting on Sunday...
RSA pulls out and it's no time left another major team get off CT
@Khalek i ll bet all my vcash on Bangladesh then though the odds on Ireland will be just

I wondered why it got quiet. zMario banned. Thank god for that. I remember saying a few days back that SA and England would probably pull out but since they're in a series they're staying out of it for now. He was so sure that they wouldn't, wrong yet again. I highly doubt England will do it either now that teams like SA, AUS, NZ have pulled out. Then again, it might give them a chance at making the top 4 or something.

Venue will be moved for sure, ICC will not take any risk by replacing SA, CA, NZ and ENG. IF they get replaced by Ireland, Bangladesh and all, a huge revenue will be gone. From the current state of Pakistan i don't think even people will travel from another country to have fun in CT. Its 100% guranteed CT will be moved but the question of where ?? .

That's it. It sumply must be moved. That's obvious.

What makes me mad is how the BCCI have complicated matters. Pulling out if the tournament is moved? WTF?
