Pakistan won't win the next.

Followed Pakistan enough to know they could have lost today and might beat Australia/India.

I guarantee you, Sri Lanka will also not be happy walking away with one point today because if Pakistan woke up from the side of the bed that they chose for the game against the Windies, it's SL that's lost a point.

If you had this happening in the subcontinent, we all know how the English press would`ve reacted!

They are hypocrites so we can't expect anything else from them. England is the Country that invented the game of Cricket and now England is the Country who made a joke of the most prestigious event of the game. The pinnacle tournament of the World of Cricket is entirely mismanaged this time around !!! I am not at all pleased with the way this tournament started especially the opening ceremoney it was just rubbish !!! And to make the matters worse England is bringing in a new form of Cricket, the 100-ball game. If such is the attitude of the world towards the game then where should fans like us go and watch the actual game of Cricket ? Cricket is meant to be a gentlemen's game, a game which tests one's temparament, the determination of players and the patience of crowd. On the other hand, these guys wants to make it a fast sport, over and above the teams at the World Cup are being reduced :facepalm

TBH teams like Zimbabwe and Ireland deserved their spots this time around :(

Both teams will feel robbed of a win here, since Sri Lanka also rebounded very well and beat Afghanistan. I wont say that Pakistan would've definitely won today had it rained.

Why cant they overlap the reserve days with the game that's supposed to happen the next day? That way, the tournament duration is not affected and they can have a backup crew on standby in case a game has to go into a reserve day. With all the money flowing in from India, cricket is at a very healthy stage where they can afford all these things.

Or if they dont want to have reserve days for the league phase, they should have a system where the team that was ranked higher in the ICC rankings, should get the 2 points in case of a washout. I know its not the most ideal thing but atleast it awards the more consistent team across ODI's played in the period where the rankings are calculated.

Don't like this idea one bit. As you said, the rankings are decided over a period of time, I think 2 years and a lot can change in two years.

It is not necessary that the team which is higher on the rankings has been been more consistent in the last 6 months or 1 year.

Plus the number of ODIs played by every team are so different that you simply cannot normalize that data

Interesting two matches tomorrow. Bangladesh want to win after loosing the last match and so does England. New Zealand are really playing some good cricket and Afghanistan need to pull the sock up and play better cricket. You cannot play mediocre cricket and you really need to capitalize on the opportunity you get. A seriously missed opportunity against Sri Lanka.[DOUBLEPOST=1559920892][/DOUBLEPOST]Also we will be donning the orange Jersey against England and Bangladesh, will be interesting to see how that looks.

Have a feeling that our Asian neighbors will be pushed over in their respective games tomorrow. NZ is going to walk all over AFG for sure

Bangladesh will give a tough fight, but I think the English batting lineup will end up being too good for them

I'm also not in favour of awarding points via ranking. The rankings themselves are dubious. I don't see very many options apart from a reserve day. My first option would honestly be a way to have a roof. But, I understand that's expensive.

Bangladesh has won the previous two encounters in World Cup against England. Although I do agree that if English batsman play with their recent form its going to be tough for Bangladesh to complete their hattrick of wins against England in World Cups

Just realized, 50% of the teams in this world cup are Asian. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan. Must be a first

I have a feeling that the Pak-Aus game will be washed out.

That's an odd decision to drop Moeen. Rashid may be a wicket taker, but he sure does go for aplenty. Moeen at least keeps the run flow in check. Attacking captaincy by Morgan it'll be interesting to see if it will pay off or not.

Moeen wouldn’t have been available anyway due to personal reasons.

Not sure if Bangladesh should have opted to bowl first. They’re a better team when it comes to defending totals due to their accurate and defensive bowling rather than at chasing due to the lack of naturally aggressive sloggers.
