ICC Under -19 World Cup in New Zealand

Has the NZ squad been announced?

This was the winter squad named in May this year.

Corey Anderson (Canterbury)
Harry Boam (Wellington)
Tom Blundell (Wellington)
Doug Bracewell (Central Districts)
Michael Bracewell (Otago)
Craig Cachopa (Auckland)
Dane Cleaver (Central Districts)
Rory Darkins (Northern Districts)
Lachlan Ferguson (Auckland)
Shane Gadsdon (Northern Districts)
Chamika Gajanayaka (Wellington)
Matt Henry (Canterbury)
Jono Hickey (Northern Districts)
Timothy Johnston (Canterbury)
Tom Latham (Canterbury)
Matt McEwan (Canterbury)
Adam Milne (Central Districts)
James Neesham (Auckland)
Henry Nicholls (Canterbury)
Bevan Small (Central Districts)
Ben Smith (Central Districts)
Blair Soper (Otago)
Mattie Thomas (Northern Districts)
Logan Van Beek (Canterbury)
Theo Van Woerkom (Canterbury)
Ben Wheeler (Central Districts)
Harry Wright (Wellington)

It's pretty rough though, as the final team will be named after the national under 19 tournament in Janurary.

I only really recognize a couple of those names from domestic cricket, mainly Anderson, Bracewell, Boam, Cachopa and Gadsdon.

I guess Williamson is too old, as he is 19...

Quite a few of them a pretty good young players tbh. Michael Bracewell is an attacking opening batsmen (he keeps also). Matt Thomas is a spinner who is rated very highly (Pretty sure he's a chinamen). Jono Hickey is an all-rounder who bowls leg-spin (very promising leg-spin mind you). James Neesham won the National bank bowl off a few years back, and has already played for New Zealand when they toured England last season. Tom Lathan is a very promising top order batsmen (he's the Williamson of the South Island).

New Zealand should go fairly well imo. The ball moves around a lot down there, so I suspect the subcontinent teams may struggle in the batting department. The last time the world cup was held in New Zealand, Australia won by beating New Zealand in the final.

Guys that should be in this team come Janurary for sure:

Doug Bracewell
Michael Bracewell
Corey Anderson
James Neesham
Matt Thomas
Tom Latham
Rory Darkins
Craig Cachopa
Logan Van Beek
Theo Van Woerkom
Harry Boam

You could probably pencil those players in now.

Some good youngster in there, probably won't win the title but will be good seeing how they go against other young talents across the globe.

Logan Van Beek was yesterday named 12th man of Canterbury's FC team. Good to see a real youngster close to playing FC cricket with so little experience behind him.

Hope that Kraigg Brathwaite can do good in this tournament. He is almost 17 and already played 2 First Class games for Barbados and he did well in those games. Also had one List A game against Barbados and scored 43 in that game. Biggest batting talent in the Caribbean.

Yeah I second that. Looking forward to seeing how well he goes to, hopefully he doesn't have to carry the batting too much though.

Unfortunately I think he might have to. I don't know too many of the guys in the squad because many of them haven't played any First Class cricket. He will be relied on more than anyone to score runs and get the team of to a good start.

Also looking forward to seeing Jason Holder bowling.

They're the ones to watch out for IMO. I played against Travis Dean, the guy is a freak. Australian career ahead of him. The rest of the bolded are all obvious.
