ICC World T20 Bangladesh 2014

So two Asian teams in a tournament final in Indian subcontinent

I read this term on cricinfo - "Fast Track Bully". Made me LOL

I think you all know what I'm going to say.

Virat Kohli. That is all.

I honestly dint know you were going to say that. I hope I dint let you down :(

Commenting on S Africa, while people will obviously attack their tournament failures record now - once again they overall squad selection must be questioned I think.

From the inception I found it strange that they recalled Albie Morkel, he clearly has looked past in best in recent IPL & T20 leagues around the world. Probably should have kept David Weise in the squad.

This guy B Hendriks earned his selection based on T20 domestic form in S Africa recently, won't write him off, but I wasn't impressed with him this tournament. Yes M Morkel had a bad game vs N zealand - but given he is such a top bowler, I'm surprised SA dropped him so quickly for Hendricks. Surely he should have been backed to come good again.

Also all the non-asian teams except the windies didn't have enough spinners to properly challenge the asian big trio in these conditions. But I reckon S Africa might have had a good back-up to Tahir, if they had chosen Roloef Van Der Merwe - can't understand why he never gets picked, Phaginso was a wasted selection.

I think it's as much the issues with attacking spin as much as not having enough spinners. a lot of non-asian countries have combatted spin in the test arena by blocking it out but when they have to hit boundaries and go after the ball they really struggle.

I expect a high scoring match with India coming out on tops again.

Regarding the SA game, the squad composition of South Africa was really bad, given that on a sluggish wicket such as this, they ought to have played another specialist spinner.
Nevertheless, their batting effort was fantastic and should have won it had they not encountered a rampaging Kohli.

Albie's form was better then wiese in the local t20 competition. Won quite a few games for the titans hence the recall.

Phangiso is ahead of van der merwe due to political reasons...

Another poor semi from us. Should have defended 170+ .:(

I think we South Africans need to realise that sometimes we just don't have the best team in the tournament.

Yes we choke, but sometimes we're just the worse team.

There are many instances in sport were the best team doesn't always win the trophy. The team was good enough to win and didn't put up their best performance. 170 was dependable with this bowling attack but they didn't bowl well enough.

They never put up their best performances in these knockout games and that's why they always come unstuck...

India have underused Jadeja a lot in this tournament, which is a good sign. I dont think Jadeja is that good an allrounder that he can take that spot in the team for granted. An in-form Ashwin is anyday a better choice than Jadeja. And now with Mishra making a strong case to be played often in T20's and ODI's, I feel Jadeja is the guy who has to take the chop if needed. But I think for now, he is OK because our fast bowlers are so bad that we dont mind 3 spinners

While I agree that the Favs don't always win, but honestly SA were not the favs to win, and honestly the conditions were always going to favor the sub continent teams. Also bowling second under Dew, the SA bowlers were always going to struggle to defend the total against India's strong line up.

Its no surprise that two sub continent teams are in the final. However with dew set to play a key role, one safely say that the team Batting second will have a big advantage. Ofcourse Dew is not the be all and end all, but the trend is obv there.

SA should have won the '99 WC ... that was one tournament they were heavy favs for, also '03 WC but as you said they best teams don't win, but SA really should have.
