India in England/Ireland/Scotland

281 in the end. I wasn't too far out.

India's fielding was on the poor side of ordinary today though. Special mention has to go to RP Singh, who somehow managed to miss the stumps from six inches throwing with his stronger hand. Fair effort.

This is an excellent start from England's bowlers. They have kept Tendulkar and Ganguly really quiet
3.1 Anderson to Ganguly, FOUR, a bit too full and too straight - Anderson striving for swing here - Ganguly gets nicely in line and plays a trademark straight drive, that is a beautiful shot for four that breaks the shackles a little bit
3.2 Anderson to Ganguly, FOUR, And another! Ganguly pulls out yet another gorgeous drive. The bat comes down dead straight and meets a full ball just outside the off. The ball speeds away, beats mid-off and races away for four. Top shot!
3.3 Anderson to Ganguly, FOUR, A bit of width, just short of a length, and that's three in three balls. Ganguly gets into great position and square-drives that magnificently past point. No chance for the fielders there!
3.6 Anderson to Ganguly, FOUR, short one banged in, Ganguly goes for the pull, he doesn't connect too well but there's enough bat on the ball to take it over Ravi Bopara at square-leg. The ball dribbles away for four to end an excellent over for India

Talk about a jinx...

Tendulkar is a bit struggling, but it looks like Ganguly is finding his own form again.

Tendulkar hit his first four of this innings, but what a great one. A pull to midwicket and within seconds it reached the boundary.

Tendulkar is gone now. It wasn't needed to cut that ball. Anderson gets Tendulkar again.

Karthik is gone for a duck by Broad.

Both wickets fell for short balls.

Hah.. once again India's fielding cost them 20 runs too many. That last over by R.P.Singh was shocking. He just dishes up length balls which tail enders find very nice to hit over the top. R.P just hasn't got into ODI bowling mode - he just bowls too many boundary balls for my liking.

I would have bowled a spinner in the last over of the England innings particularly against a tail ender like Tremlett.

And India's batting once again shows up under pressure. Goes to show how badly India need a dynamic opener like Sehwag. Maybe Uthappa should have played this match and opened and Tendulkar gone down the batting order. He just doesn't seem comfortable against the new ball with his slower reflexes and James Anderson has made a mockery of his technique against the short stuff (except that one pull shot, Tendulkar just seems so reluctant to play horizontal bat shots)

Strong offside feilds. Playing a tactic of bowling short and wide lol

Not bad stuff from Ganguly and Dravid. They are rebuilding the innings after Tendulkar and Karthik got out. Nonsense from Karthik. Tendulkar was starting to open up but couldnt connect properly.

Crucial part of the innings now. Powerplays are over, and Dravid and Ganguly arent that great in finding the boundaries often when the fielders are spread out. India need urgency during this period. Hope Ganguly can answer that. Though his running has been PATHETIC (thats an understated word), his batting has so far looked very solid.

Why did Dravid field first again? Is the world record 17 successful run chases still in his mind? That was on benign subcontinental wickets. We are playing in England. We got to back our strengths which is setting a target.

England doing well a big game for Monty, doing well so far I think. He has to be played consistently to improve as a ODI bowler, keep dropping him and how will he learn? Tremlett was expensive again, 2 overs for 20. Get the wicket of Dravid and we have a great chance I think.

Ganguly is two runs away from his fifty and 13 runs away from 11.000 ODI runs, which will be a great achievement. Even Dravid is close to that total. About 500 runs less then him.

Dravid with a six! Didn't expect that from him. Especially in this stage.

Dravid gets his 81st (!) ODI fifty.

Two balls later Ganguly gets his 69th (!) ODI fifty.

india repairing nicely but england still hot favourites....

Ganguly just hit a six, but he should start getting the runs a bit quicker. Even getting singles will help now.

Its neck and neck, what a ball from Tremlett.

It's turning into an exciting match again, but if a batsman will get out now, if will become difficult for India. Required runrate is 7.

Dhoni is gone, india in trouble now. England have broken into the indian tail
