India in England/Ireland/Scotland

Not at all, the program is starting at 10:00 - Strange indeed.

That is normal for domestic matches; today's Pro40 game between Nottinghamshire and Gloucestershire started at 1.45, and the pre-match build up started at 1.30. I wouldn't want any more than that to be honest!

Bit of highlights, pitch report, some build up from the commentators, chuck the toss in there somewhere too...

Its what its all about:p

It'll basically be;

Roll opening credits
Have toss
Announce XI's
Talk about pitch
Make obvious statement about if England bowl and bat well they'll win
Make unfunny joke
Start

If fridays game is anything to go by it'll be a cracker. Mind you smaller boundaries always make for a more exciting game.

I am inclined to agree. His domestic record is decidedly average: 118 wickets at 29.73. Econ: 4.66 and his international record (unsurprisingly) is worse, although he is a smidgen cheaper.

That being said, just watching him bowl, he is a very good bowler. Not so much a performer as a worker. He won't be afraid to toss one up and realises that a wicket is worth the 12 runs (2 sixes) which it might cost. His arm ball is quite good too. As far as spinning it, he is up there with Murali on some occasions too. He really puts a rip on the ball and the amount of spin he gets for a finger spinner is quite extraordinary.

The problem we have is a lack of spinners now that Warne has retired and Kumble retired from ODIs. Murali is the best around, then there is a huge valley between him and the next spinner. I like Powar I think he's a clever bowler, I don't know who I'd put ahead of him though, becaue past Murali no one jumps out at you as an obvious choice.

Today could be a good toss to lose, I like to get runs on the board and then try and defend it, but at this early there will be moisture around and it could do something for the bowlers.

India deciding to field first. Agarkar and Tremlett dropped. I expect Monty to be smashed around today. India will be happy if they restrict England to under 300.

If we're talking about ODI spinners. Vettori and Hogg are brilliant. Then theres the up-commers, Powar, Patel and Chawla who seem to be pretty good but we havn't seen a heck of a lot of them yet.

Why have they allowed the Indian fans to take those stupid, annoying horns into the ground? Ban them! Why can't they just roar and clap?

Why did the Barmy Army have to chant during the Ashes ;)

Not much difference. Though an instrument is probably easier to make noise with.

And noise is annoying, chants like 'ENNGLLAAN...ENGLA...what country is it...' are fine.

'Honk, Honk, Honk, Honk.....(Tendulkar runs the ball down to third man for 2) HONK, HONK,HONK' is not!

Confiscate them, this is the world cup now, ban horns!
And this horn thing is contant, it need's a rest!

England off to a flier here. RP Singh's drop will be costly but at least India have the early wicket as Prior tries the pull shot just seven times too many.

Munaf Patel is really annoying me now, he is in the high 70s, how slow do you want to bowl?
