India in England/Ireland/Scotland

Shikhar Dhawan,Ravneet Ricky and few more  They deserve a chance too.Gambhir has been given too many chances. He just plays one good inning that too against weaker teams. He is not the permanent solution sorry.;) Two games? He has been around for more than 2-3 years and in and out of the team becoz of his inconsistency.Lets see what your facts are to prove that he will be the future opener.;)
Parthiv Patel too has been setting the A leagues on fire. :D Though that may be in first class games.

Uthappa played well but so many of his runs came behind the wicket off shots that he didn't mean to play that it takes a little bit of sheen out of his innings. Definitely credit to him for sticking in there and he played well in the last over to finish the game off. He's got a good cricketing brain, though, as he shepherded the strike well when he had to play with the tail. I just hope the selectors don't try and slot him in down the order because he's far more effective up top.

India have got a problem in that they have 4 openers in their side. Ganguly and Sachin are definite openers. Uthappa at 3, followed by Yuvraj, Dravid, and Dhoni. India need to find another batsman I think. Karthik hasn't looked too good, and Gambhir can't bat at 7.

I've just got to say thanks to both teams for providing one of the most entertaining and tense ODI series I've ever seen! It's one of those where no-one deserves to lose.

My LineUp:

Tendulkar
Ganguly
Ghambir
Dravid
Yuvraj
Uthappa
KKD
Zaheer
Chawla
Pawar
And one of those seamers.

what a match guys!!! Both teams played classic cricket and in the end India won with a lil luck and good batting by oldies...this is now the FINAL whoever wins will take the trophy...I think India can win if they bat first and put a decent total on the board...one more thing...I agree Agarakar taking early wickets buh hes wayyy too expenisve its just unacceptable...even Gangulay bowling better than him..

oldies??? what a crappy word to use to the two of them? if ur using it in an insulting way, then its irritatin to see ur attitude towards two legendary players who are still more than fit to don ODI colours.

I agree on the Agarkar part. Well seeing Agarkar, even Munaf looks decent.

He has been around for a long time and still is considered to be a future solution. Isnt that fact enough that he can still be a future opener if given the right chances? I am not that big a advocate of Gambhir but now and then, he has made the right noises for him to be selected. May be the presence of Tendulkar, Ganguly and before Sehwag did not give Gambhir the right chances. He has been for 2-3 years but how many games has he played?

Parthiv Patel too has been setting the A leagues on fire. :D Though that may be in first class games.

Oh come on! We are already grappling with two wicketkeepers in our side and we are forced to have Dhoni behind the stumps because he cant be believed to do well in other areas of the field and he commands respect because of his slam bang style of batting and comes up with those good to great innings at irregular intervals. How's Parthiv's keeping now?

You got to be absolutely kidding right? KKD for Dhoni when Dhoni hasnt done too much wrong in the last few games? Dhoni's 35 was quite important too. Had he remained few more minutes, he would have surely opened up and probably taken us to victory. His keeping has actually been even better what his previous works in this series. He was brilliant in those 6 dismissals which equalled the world record.

I think we got to go with Agarkar this game and finish him off once and for all. With Powar and Zaheer in the team, we cant afford to have Munaf and add to the pathetic fielders in our team. Once the series is over, Sreesanth has to replace Agarkar and Irfan or someone else got to replace Munaf. Munaf should be kept out for a longer time. All his problems are in the mind and until he gets that sorted out, he needs to stay out.

I believe india is the only major cricket playing nation that has no decent allrounder..I hope Pathan gets his rhythm soon

I think he would be selected as a specialist batsman just as Irfan Pathan would be selected as a batting all-rounder. And then we would have 5 possible keepers in the side! Dhoni, Karthik, Parthiv, Uthappa and Dravid!

Agarkar can also throw the ball from the deep whereas Munaf would struggle to get it into the keepers gloves from the inner-ring.

What's wrong with Sree; he just had midiocre Test series (at worst). He's aggressive.

He shows a lot of attitude for a youngster.
And it is not good.

Yes,being aggresive is good, but too much of a good thing is bad.

Shikhar Dhawan
I first had a look at this guy in the U-19 World Cup in Bangladesh ,in which India made the finals.Ever since his fluency in that Wc,he hasnt really set the domestic scene on fire.I agree he is good, but he needs to back it up with his domestic performances.

Ravneet Ricky
This guy has certainly missed out. He,I believe was in the class of Yuvraj and Kaif when India won the U-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2002.This guy might just end up with the ICL.

Apart from these two,we also have Manvinder Bisla,an exciting all-rounder.
Ambati Rayadu, well he wont be seen in the India jersey for now.
Amol Muzumdar was a great bat, didnt get a single chance !

Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa?

England - Flintoff
West Indies - Bravo
New Zealand and South Africa have a few batting or bowling all rounders but not any pure all rounders.
Australia have Watson but he is rubbish.
Pakistan/India/Sri Lanka don't have any.

SA have Pollock and I rate him as a pure allrounder.
Of late, he seems to have shown better batting consistency than Freddie.

The Srils have Maharoof, Jayasuriya (to an extent), Arnold, Dilshan, and even Vaas to an extent.

Nah, Jayasuriya is a part timer, albeit an effective one in ODIs, Maharoof isn't a good enough batsman to be considered an all rounder.

Looks like two unchanged sides for tomorrow, momentum's with India. I'd say India just.
