India in England Jun-Sept 2014

KP will probably never play for England again sadly. They just don't like him for some reason even though he is one of the best batsmen out there. Personally, I'd go;

Cook, Ballance, Pietersen, Bell, Root, Ali, Buttler, Jordan, Broad, Woakes, Anderson

Alright, well we should have a result in the match tomorrow with the way things have gone so far in the past two matches. 3-1 England. Ali will probably get his first 10 wicket haul in the second Indian innings. I think England should just declare already, even a 100 run lead was enough to bundle India out for like 50 runs. They are wasting incessant time in making sure they don't have to bat again but I don't think they will even if they declared with a 100 run lead. Like I said pujara and kohli need to sit out the next series and they need to learn a lot of things before they are taken overseas again. Why can't they freaking watch videos of tendulkar's footwork in any overseas location.

Lets cut some slack for both Pujara and Kohli. They are just taking over from the veterans and settling into the test team. For Pujara, he has started off well and down the line, the pressure of "not being able to convert starts to a big one" has further pulled him down to the point where he is now not even getting the starts. And for Kohli, he needed this massive "come back down to earth" moment. These guys are still the players who should serve India long. They have failed in this series, but they need to learn from it and move on. I still say that India's core of its future test batting is going to rest in the hands of Pujara, Kohli and Rahane.

Kohli remains a special talent, there seems to be a deeper problem. Many observers, myself included think he is becoming disenchanted with the five day game. If he really wanted to perform in this series he would have. Its something he has to work out for himself, if he decides he is not interested in test cricket, let it known so Duncan work with someone else!

No doubt about this. They're our best bet. We need to be patient, think of it as an investment which will reap benefits over the years to come. Dropping them is only gonna hurt India further.

Personally Root moves up to open...
Why would you want to move Root back up to opening the batting when he's scoring runs for fun in the middle order?

Who is the best FC opener out there in England? Compton has a century + 3 90s and Lyth has been in very good form. Is there anybody other than this? Robson is more suited to the Australian game as you wont see this amount of swing there and that might suit him more.

Because he is an opener and he was slotted into the middle order to get him accustomed to the Int'l Setup. He is set up now, move him back up, I understand he has been an opener all his life.

Also it frees up a slot to get KP back in. I don't know which side of the debate ppl are on, but was he or was he not the highest scorer in the toughest series Eng have had in recent years. How can you question the attitude of someone who stood up and delivered when all around him were having a torrid time. Trott went so far as to pack his bags and leave to get out of the fire. KP on the other hand delivered and lets face it is still a very good batsman.

England dont like rebels and Pietersen is one. End of story. They want their stars to keep shut and obey all the orders of the coach. He felt it was wrong and let it known, and faced the consequences.

I am fine with Kohli, yes he has an issue with the outswinger but he will sort it out over time. Pujara on the other hand, I have some deeper worries. He is getting out to both the ball leavig him as well as the one coming in, through the bat pad gap. Thats a bit more worrying.

Second Innings I would like Rahane at 3 and MSD at 4. or vice versa.[DOUBLEPOST=1408271978][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah but how did he rebel. He scored more runs than anyone else in the most horrific series Eng have had in recent years ... the only rebel that makes him is a rebel against buckling down under pressure. Such rebels should be welcome. Also I know he and Flower had issues, but Flower is gone, so why keep KP out now.

Ye I have the same question but I guess Cook did not want him? Maybe he felt KP did more harm than good? Or maybe Cook felt that KP was a threat to his powers?

Yeah well Cook got a huge breather here, with Ind being so poor, but Eng will be found out against the better teams, and that will put him under pressure again. I don't know what Eng's next engagement is, but against, SA or Aus or SL away. That will put the KP issue back on.

Another major reason may have been the appointment of Moores. It is well known that KP and Moores dont get on with each other, so when ECB had to choose between the two, they chose Moores.

I know ! I made a post on this yesterday.

I don't understand the new tendency for Umpires to not give no balls, now. That last Binny ball was a no ball, not called. Its a new trend, they don't call no balls now, just review for no ball when a wicket falls.
[DOUBLEPOST=1408272837][/DOUBLEPOST]Thats not out, Broad's hand is off the bat.
