Changing MSD as test captain is not going to erase any positives. In fact, it could help the team stop using people like Jadeja who is not at all test level. A new captain like Kohli would find it challenging to take over at a turbulent time like this, but we have had history before of captains taking over during turbulent times and getting the team out of the dark (a certain aggressive left hander comes to mind).
Yes ganguly took over at a a very dark stage, the thing is whenever such things happen its out of necessity rather than being due to trying out for better luck, whenever you change a veteran captain for a new one just for the sake of it, it has resulted in shuffling of captains and disharmony in team for all teams that go that route.
Lets just say kohli takes over and gets whitewashed in india, thats not how you build a youngster into a captain especially not while he is already struggling like hell, putting kohli for captain for aus series has potential to break him for good for sometime if things go wrong, if im a selector i wouldn't risk it by a mile.
Also you are still of the idea that we are loosing due to captaincy, i will say this we may not have won in certain clutch situations in NZ and SA due to captaincy, but we have not lost due to captaincy, It is primarily our batting that shines up whenever we loose heavily.
So instead of pushing out one guy who has atleast a feather of form and guts to fight it out, it would be great if we can concentrate on the real issues of getting our players batsman to form, starting with ousting fletcher, this is not a blame game, as you say if dhoni is a Conservative captain lets just compliment him with an aggressive coach, kristen worked well . lehman works for australia etc.
they didnt sack clarke cause he was asking for homework or a lot of questionable selections he made too.
Changing a coach always gives better fortune unlike captaincy
.
Dhoni's time as the torch bearer is not over just yet.
