India Cricket News: Keeping Test specialists out of IPL a good idea - Fleming | ESPN Cricinfo

Okay SaiSrini - PlanetCricket Forums Stephen Flemming for coach you were on the money!

Sadly after this article I doubt very much the BCCI will take him on board!

Cant be so sure of that. Ravi Shastri also spoke pretty strong things before he was officially announced as the new Team Director few days back. Also, Fleming is a CSK guy, so they wont take his comments offensively.:D I had voted for Fleming way back before Fletcher was called up to coach India. After Kirsten, Fleming was the right guy to coach.

But I think the BCCI are going more towards Indian coaches (which would be a good idea). And Fleming has said that his family commitments (with young kids) does not allow him to take up an international coaching role in the near future

I wish this would happen. We be great to go with a proper spinner. But the chances of that happening are slim

I would be really surprised and impressed if Dhoni picks Rayudu for Raina
I think this could happen just because Raina was given the opportunity only after even Jadeja,Samson and Karn which gives a definite hint of him not going to be in the final XI.

I think the team management was testing out Samson and and Karn. With his superb form right now, Raina is going to be there in playing XI.

I think Jadeja is a key part of the squad. He can get some tight overs in and can get some big hits in. Sure one can question his place in the test team, but in the ODIs I think he has done enough to merit his place. Raina I though still question. I think he has had a long run of nothing special scores. Samson should get in ahead of Raina.

@greymatter776
But Jadeja's record at the Champions trophy last year, makes him in stronger position against Karn Sharma..
But I do think England won't prepare such LQ batting pitches anymore.Especially with the weakness of the Indian batting exposed England just would not prepare such pitches anymore.

With Shastri in the team, I do feel Karn Sharma could possibly get the opportunity ahead of Jadeja. Karn should play. England have a historical weak spot for leggies, and Karn is a more attacking bowler than Jadeja. With Ashwin being a more "stop the flow of runs" type bowler, Karn can attack. And Karn can really bat.[DOUBLEPOST=1408811683][/DOUBLEPOST]

They wont prepare too lively pitches for ODI's. All ODI's and T20's these days are about big scores and any board would not want to move away from it and risk getting in a short game. Its a standard right now to prepare batting friendly pitches for ODI's and T20's.

Girlfriends a big no-no for Indian team manager - Hindustan Times

Indian Team Manager Sunil Dev said:
CCI's decision to allow the Bollywood actress to stay with the cricketer has snowballed into a controversy after Dev just stopped short of saying that wife's are ok but girlfriends on tours was against the culture of the country.

"I didn't know who gave this permission and from where it was supposed to be taken. Whether this was been done before or not I am not aware of it. But I will definitely speak to the BCCI about what I feel and submit my report," Dev told 'Times Now'.

Asked whether girlfriends travelling with the players on tour was against Indian culture, Dev said: "As you said, yes I agree with you. But I won't make any comment until I meet Board members. I am bound with a contract with the Board."

Seriously, is this guy a cracked head? Why do we see a lot of cases these days of people talking highly regressive nonsense in the media? Of all reasons he could bring up, he chooses to talk about it being against Indian culture"? The difference between a girlfriend and a wife is just a mangalsutra and a piece of paper noting that they are husband and wife. Its OK to bring a wife but not a girlfriend? Which other non-performer during this tour brought their wives with him? Lets go and question all of them, shall we? If Kohli did not turn up for training or did not practice hard, you punish him for it in whatever way you want. But to question his decision to have his companion with him on tour is rubbish. There have been instances where people's performances suffer if they are homesick or lonely. England players have a history of suffering from depression and have walked away mid tours/series. Anushhka is Kohli's personal life. Others talking about it is highly disrespectful and insensitive. I know at times in the heat of the moment when the team is performing bad, some fans do bring it up (occasionally I have been guilty of the same) but when you come back to your senses and look objectively at it, I strongly believe its wrong.

Props to Mr. Sunil Dev for being bold enough to spew such retarded thoughts out in the public. Takes guts to be so openly stupid
