India in England Jun-Sept 2014

Keep talking up your great captain. Umesh Yadav not picked for the first game of the series and Mohit to play ahead of him. God save India from Dhoni`s fetish towards mediocre seamers. I really do see some upsets against us in the World Cup if we field an attack consisting of Bhuvi and Mohit in Australian conditions.

Dhawan showing that his form is just amazing. 11 and gone. The man that caused so much danger last year in the Champions Trophy in the same conditions is struggling this summer. Form is a wonderful thing.

Holy hell .. I am sorry, I did not read the whole thing but got the gist of it.

First of all, you are being a little too dramatic. No one here is deriding MSD's success at home. But we get it .. he has an excellent record at home. Well done. We make as much of a big deal when we beat teams at home. So all this hoopla about "Indian fans not placing enough value on home wins" is false. Either way, can we move on and try achieving something more ? Or are we really just happy with this ? I am pretty sure Dhoni and his boys aren't.

About the "Dhoni witch hunt" - I think you are forgetting how much of a leeway the Dhoni-Fletcher combo has gotten. They have had tremendous support from both the board and the fans, despite producing some horrific results. Losing to England 2-1 at home tops that list for me and was worse than the 8-0 horror run. But Dhoni has been persisted with and he has made some amends. Once again, I have nothing against Dhoni the player, the captain or the wicketkeeper. But as long as he is captaining all three formats, we will never have a captain ready for use and will be back to the rebuilding phase. I dont mind that either .. because it is nothing new as an Indian cricket fan.

We could (and will) keep Dhoni as the captain and supposedly hammer West Indies into oblivion, or put faith in our future captain candidate and risk "not hammering" West Indies.

PS: That "quote" was not sarcasm. Its the truth. That is the mentality we all have, and is reflected in your defense

Oh the truth is too dramatic for you. There was no defence of anything just a lot of facts put out there. I wonder why you chose the word 'defense' to describe that, did it put you on the defense with MSD witchunt.

ALL teams win at home and lose away. MSD since the tour of SA has won one test 1 and lost 5, and yet you are all dissing him. Clarke last year lost 7 won nil, and yet he was captain genius for you. Leeway ... How many aussies were calling for his head on that horror run.

Clarke won the Ashes at Home after losing 7 matches away, did the Aussies all say of its a fking useless home win. You have double standards for juding performances, for India winning at home lets look down upon it, other teams though, its okay to win at home after a poor away run, but if MSD wins at home after a poor away run, we should just sack him for winning at home. Fking hilarious.

Honestly tell me, do you think Kohli should be made captain. I mean his form is nearing droppable, forget rewardable, and MSD who has to lead this rabble of a batting line up, should be sacked and the person who has been the biggest embarrassment of all these batsmen, Kohli, should get his place as a reward for being the most disappointing batsman India have had on any tour recently. If you do then I don't know what to say.

Also do read that post in its entirety, it will actually help you clear you bias against Home Wins in test matches. Sure its great to win away, but home wins are just as important.

And achieve more how, with this team, do you think any captain can win if the batting line up cannot bat 30 overs and innings. Do you really think that changing the captain is the magic solution to India's batting problems. Sack MSD and poof, suddenly everyone will figure out how to face the swinging ball and will be tonking Anderson and Broad in Eng conditions for a six every delivery.

I mean if that is going to happen then hell lets sack MSD right away, what is the BCCI waiting for.

think this is going to be kohli's day.....:(

Forget Kohli right now, let him find his form in peace. Rohit (who i have long given up on) though ,is setting up a good platform. Another few overs of sensible batting will set it up for a good end over onslaught.[DOUBLEPOST=1409139158][/DOUBLEPOST]Raina being a bit too animated, has come off so far though, I must admit. A little bit of calm for the next few overs will still be advisable though.

This is why I have given up on Rohit :) Its almost as if he suddenly decides there are better things he could be doing and say okay, I am outta here.

Well still I suppose a 50 is better than nothing.

I just saw the Kohli dismissal, had missed it at the start cos of work, the one thing I will say is it was not an out of form batsman's dismissal. A good shot straight of the middle of the bat, went to hand yes, but a batsman who is out of form doesn't get out like that. Usualy an edge of miscue or skier.

I have to say Raina seems to be a lot more composed against the short ball now, than he did a few years ago. He used to be as bad as Moenn Ali against the short ball, if not a tad bit worse.

EDIT - Just as I write this, trust Raina to play a dodgy pull :) Its a small ground so luckily went for a six.

How long before our fair weather friends on here, pitch for Raina to be the next test captain?[DOUBLEPOST=1409142055][/DOUBLEPOST]Having said that, Raina has been a bit lucky with a few shots, but a 50 that quick is still a 50. Well Done
