India in England Jun-Sept 2014

They need to rest bhuvi for all of WIndies ODIs if we don't want him to burn out before Aus. And thank God SRH dint qualify for Champions League. Otherwise the poor guy would have to play that too

I would actually be in favor of Bhuvi missing the tests too ... he is not going to be as effective on Ind pitches. Ishant and Varun/Yadav, to be the two seamers for the tests.

Oh dear .. England look well set here.

All upto the spinners now I guess

With the wet seam reducing chance of movement, the pacers were going to struggle. I will still expect the Rainas and Ashwins and Jadejas to reign things in.[DOUBLEPOST=1409152505][/DOUBLEPOST]I do think India need to look at the opening slot seriously, Dhawan I think is rendering himself unselectable with his form. Whoever goes to Aus has to play against WI. Also I would like Amit Mishra on the tour to Aus, leggies tend to do well in Aus. Mishra has all the variations.

May have pitched outside leg, In a way did remind me of Cook's dismissal in the first test. Walking too far across, and getting bowled off his thigh guard.

Mishra better play the WIndies series. Or we will end up having another long "discussion". Ofcourse he needs to be selected first

@PokerAce - I am done with this discussion because we are back to going around in circles :) I myself have said the same thing in the last two posts. Enjoy the game

Go raina. Might actually get a 100 next to his name in England. Whowuddathunk

Same here. For them, Dhoni is going to be always good even though we have lost 8-0 under him in 2011, lost 2-1 to England at home, continue to keep losing to SA, NZ and now the 3-1 embarassment against England. More than the numbers, its the way that the team under Dhoni (and Dhoni himself) are just so so stubborn to not learn from the mistakes and their fetish to keep repeating their mistakes again and again, is why we are calling for Dhoni's head, seems to escape his newly found defenders in this forum.

Bell was a great wicket. If Eng were going to chase 300 they had to have Bell play a good innings. He can alter equations very fast.[DOUBLEPOST=1409153112][/DOUBLEPOST]

No I think I would like Mishra to play too, so we may not have that long discussion afterall.

Ind are short on the spin department. There is Ashwin, Jadeja, Mishra. Ojha seems to have fallen down the pecking order.

For Them. :) Its a gang war is it :) I tell you what, go to Aus, without MSD, whoever you want Captain and lets see if that prevents a 4-0. Actually forget the final series score, lets just see if it helps the Batsmen bat out 30 overs an innings, and get from 8/4 to 182 without MSD

Very happy to see Raina among the runs. I wouldn't start building castles in the air though, coz Raina against short ball is still a very worrying proposition. And Australian pitches (for the WC) should be a lot more bouncier and I would like to see with my eyes how Raina handles those short balls. I love the attitude of the guy though. He's vibrant, positive. He has to show determination

Good knocks from MS and Rohit. MSD is a legend in ODI's, you expect this from him day in, day out.

I would actually have said Misbah too, had he had a longer career, and not been lambasted for slow scoring rate. I think he scores at a fine rate when he needs to. Even in T20s has an S/R of 110, not the worst in the world.

Definitely Hussey would go in that list.

ABD,Sanga (Now)
Hussey,Kallis (Former)

I am surprised no one mentioned Lord Kallis

Some "spicy" bowling in the last 5 overs

LOL .. did anyone catch what Dhoni screamed in Hindi ? Something about the batsman "___ dekh raha hai. Bas idhar hi dalta reh"
