India in England Jun-Sept 2014

Would just be too late then.
actually i lost count of a day thought this was the 3rd:p goes to say how this match has played out...yawn inducing to say the least.Except for that one session of 6 wickets.

Almighty lord, how did Puj of all people get out on this pitch? Even Vijay who seems to acquire this trait of playing long periods, got out?

Kohli will give enough chances for England tomorrow with his kind of gameplay. Same with Dhoni. Its down to Rahane to put his head down and bat long, really long. I have always had this feeling of watching shades of Laxman in Rahane. Hope Rahane imbibes that Laxman trait of saving the match for India on the final day tomorrow. We need to bat two sessions. If we do, we will end up with a lead of close to 250 or above, which should be impossible to score for England in the final session, and thereby render the game drawn.

As of now, draw is most likely at 60%, England win should be at 35% and India win at 5%

It looks like it's series to watch who has more pessimist fans.

- However I will try to not look so pessimist here, look at the bright side, we took this match to 5 days!

It is also a series of who is the worse test captain - Dhoni or Cook

A very negative series

---

The advantage of being pessimistic is, it will always be a win-win situation. If the team sucks, then 'i told you so'. If they dont, then 'woohoo'

So the "Burnley Lara" has more runs than Cook this summer. :facepalm

Jimmy to open the batting next innings. :D

Why is Dhoni hesistant towards Binny? Even in his ODI debut he never gave Binny a chance either to bat or to bowl. And in Test he gave Binny a chance to bat because he had to and gave him the ball only as the last option. If it is to be so,why is he taken to the team?

Surely this is Binnys last test?

I'm afraid that might not be the case. His selection seems political. I can't think of any other reason why he would be on the team.

Coming back to the test, it's another advantage lost. Another heartbreak for the fans. However, as defensive as Dhoni was, I wouldn't put the blame entirely on him. He just doesn't have luxury of having at least a single quality bowler.
  • Bhuvi is okay, but isn't effective once the ball gets old
  • Shami has been overburdened and hence starting to fade out
  • Ishant Sharma, well, no comments
  • Jadeja was never a wicket taker. He is best suited for ODI/T20s
  • Binny, :facepalm

You can't really expect much from this attack really.

On a sidenote, one can't help but wonder if the pitch was made so on purpose to let Cook get into form. Boring test match, bad advertisement for the sport.

I don't think the ECB care that much about Cooks form, the pitch is the way it is because of money. Can't risk a four day test with all the money you can make from India, so these are the pitches we get. Pretty pathetic from the ECB really, even we had the guts to give decent bowling decks in the last series.

Does anyone know of Dhonis opinion of Binny though? Perhaps he isn't using him in protest of the selection or something.
