OK going off didn't help ... India lost a few :D ... anyway Dhoni has to have a go at the bowling now, no point sticking around ... also since there is a lot of talk of sledging here, and naturally India fans are pissing on Anderson and England fans defending sledging, not Anderson per se, but anyway ... here is a good reminder of what happens when talking too much goes wrong.

Anderson and Broad have ripped through India. Confidence is flying high for England at the min. Just the start that England needed.

It's kind of weird trying to bowl a team out with only a two man attack. Finn and Stokes would have been great on this pitch...

Okay Dhoni played well, hats off, for that innings. Also given that India were 8/4, perhaps 152 is too much, some may argue, but having won the toss, India cannot be pleased with this, England delighted. I was looking forward to India's new bowling attack, particularly excited about Varun, so lets see how it goes from here. Having said this, India really looked comfortable at times today, in between all the carnage that is, so that means the pitch was easing out so India could have some leather to chase today and tomorow. Best case scenario is to not concede a lead of more than 150.

Still looking forward to Varun bowl ... super excited about him ... he should be told to just bowl as fast as he could.

ya MSD possibly played one of his best knocks outside SC, if he can shown this same level of control in all games he will definitely score a lot more.

WTF just happened? Its one of those freak days. Pujara and Kohli are not this bad. They just got blown away today. I wish our bowlers can come out and use the conditions as much as it lasts before it gets good for batting. But this is going to be a uphill task. England to get another crushing victory here!

Cant fault the decision to bat first. Recently Ganguly said that to win tests outside the subcontinent, India have to risk batting first because if we can survive the testing period in the beginning, we can set up victories. Bowling first gives all the advantage to the opposition because our bowling/fielding attack invariably lets them off the hook and then we face scoreboard pressure. I agree with him! At Lord's, we survived and we won. Here we did not survive. Lets see what happens. I am not optimistic at all for India's chances.

I see England finishing at 80/4 here and the lower order then piling it on. Seems like that kind of a wicket.

Wonder why Dhoni doesnt have as much confidence in Ashwin as much as he has on Jadeja (even though both are from CSK)? What's so mighty special about Jadeja? The way Ashwin batted here, its the equivalent of 3-4 Rohit Sharma's overseas. To me, it was a superb innings that gave mighty respectability to India's eventual first innings score. And Ashwin is a specialist bowler. We know his returns overseas with the ball are pretty poor. But if you can give Jadeja the chance and hope for him to come good someday, why not do it with Ashwin? Ashwin is more than a decent bat overseas. Our last tour to Australia, he was one of the surprisingly bright lights with the bat. He has the batting technique to withstand challenges overseas. Ashwin has been an opener for Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket once upon a time.

Pankaj Singh to open the bowling! I expected Dhoni to do this, even though I wanted Aaron to take the new cherry. Dhoni is mighty predictable with his captaincy. You can just sense what he's going to do. I also have a feeling Dhoni is going to underutilise Varun Aaron here. I am going to bet on it. If Aaron doesn't pick a clutch of wickets pretty quickly, Dhoni is surely going to do a 'Binny' on Aaron. Watch out! First lets see when Aaron comes in.
