Somebody needs to be a trailblazer to challenge BCCI legally. Unfortunately that does mean being ostracised from the Indian cricket community and perhaps even a routine life thereafter. The most famous example would be Jean-Marc Bosman himself whose life was ruined after he challenged the justice system and won the case; he barely played any football during the five years the case went on due to a combination of many clubs blacklisting him and other ones being worried over the legal repercussions of signing someone like him. By the time he won the case in his favour he was over thirty with barely any relevant professional recent football experience and many clubs were still extremely wary of him (it’s the way a system unites and acts against an individual when the latter threatens the former). His life fell apart after that in a nutshell despite him being indirectly the reason why Mbappe can do what he can today free of worry.
Imagine that happening under our legal system with the ostracism being multiplied tenfold. It’d take a very brave soul to do it and it’s why I’m really annoyed at there being a total lack of any player welfare attempts by the players themselves. They are absolutely at the mercy of both the board and a bunch of rich owners despite being half the reason for the relevance of them both.
