Very good bowling by the bowlers so far but their real test starts now. We are into the tail-enders. My choice of bowlers to tail-enders would be Ashwin and Bumrah. I know bowlers are getting tired but we need that one final push.

Modern day great and in my opinion, the best test innings since Laxman's 281 at Eden.

In a day and age of wretched defensive captains, one who would be a worthy comparison to the likes of MS Dhoni and Imran Khan.

I think that the maximum runs Australia can get to from here will be about 230 and not more than that. Our bowlers will come out fresh tomorrow and will wrap up the tail quickly because even they too might be knowing the consequences of conceding extra runs to the tailenders of opposition after what happened in England. This time it will be an improved performance. Anyways would still want to see what The Australians are upto

So... Pujara was on the point yesterday when he said that this is a difficult pitch to bat. But this is not over yet. Another Sam Curran (in Travis Head) has been found and he looks good enough to shepherd Australia to a possible lead. Starc can hold more than a bat (according to what ppl here have said) and so its very ominous signs for India who again cannot dislodge lower orders.

I just hope India don't talk after this match (and series) that "we competed hard but made small mistakes that cost us the match/series".

Curran is a bowling allrounder whereas Head is in the team as a specialist batsman. Not a fair comparison I would say for either party.

They are a much better side than Australia currently and one of the best sides going around. Its a pity we are`nt touring NZ for tests this time. It was Rahane's knock there that kept us in the contest and its Pujara here. predict bigger scores in the 2nd innings here from both sides. India will concede a lead. I just hope that its not too big a lead that we concede.

True, Williamson has got nothing but respect from me.. Everytime I see him work the team , the way he carries them all is just pure skills of a leader.. Not self appointed type but the type people elect for their betterment.. Just amazing human being..

Even others in the team are just calm and amazing and truly show it in their performance and not by being vocal.. A team which you feel like having a chat to even when you have lost a match..

That 70 odd runs after Oz being 120/6 is the biggest moment in the game so far. Cummins and Starc have both shown they can stick around but it doesn't seem they are anything like Sam Curran. India should look to restrict the runs from Head and focus primarily on getting the rest of the tail out. Even in the England series, the bowlers leaked runs in an effort to get Sam Curran out and it just didn't work.

However, with recent times it seems Australia will take a slim lead, or rather end up around the 250 mark mostly.

I predict Australia will end up taking a 20-25 run lead. That should not concern India much because Australia have to bat last on this wicket. As long as India do not allow Australia to run away with a 50+ run lead, India should be front runners to put big pressure on Australia in the last innings of this test match.

Ashwin has done really well this game. Hope this is not another series where he excels in the first test and then withers away for the rest. His 25 runs in the first innings seems like pure gold now, considering that he gave Pujara excellent support and helped lift India to 250, which now looks like a very impressive total.

My bad! That was an "apples vs oranges" comparison from a skill perspective.

But also, my comparison had got more to do with the fact that Curran was an unknown entity till that series and he comes in right away and hurts India. Like that, Head is an unknown entity (this is his 3rd test match) and he does the same.
