India tour of Australia Nov'20-Jan'21

Lol Shami has lost even the gully cricket type of batting .... Nice ... I hope in the next matches Umesh and Bumrah don't give him the strike .... :clap

Look where he stands in batting now after that perfect 2014 England tour ....

90 to win for Australia and India with only 2 pacers.

The worst - 2020 is officially the worst I have seen India's performance in a cricket field.

Does this humiliation merit sacking Shastri and his bunch of cronies? I haven't seen a single batsman actually improve over an extended period of time recently due to this national setup and several have actively regressed. Less said about the fielding, the better.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant performance this from India!!! I was expecting this and the Indians didn't disappoint. Some questionable shot selection or you would say technique from the Indian batsmen. Unfortunately our skipper played the worst shot of the lot. 36/9 is just unbeatable record now. 90 to win for Australia. Just an hour is enough for the Aussies to get to this score.

Dada to make himself coach and chief executive and chairman of selectors.

A bad day. One can say we won't be seeing this sort of performance again in the series. But boy, it's embarrassing.

So here's what we have for the 2nd Test:
(a) No Kohli
(b) Shami injured
(c) Shaw likely to retain his spot (subject to how much of a say Rahane will have in team selection)
(d) Gill will be made to sit out. I don't expect miracles from him but he will definitely score more and better than Shaw
(e) Our "world class" fielding. This obsession with reverse cup catching should be abolished.
(f) No Kohli

kohli in test cricket absolutely is a good test captain. the reason we were even competitive in australia in the first part of this match is because of this insistence of playing pacers. we used to play 2 specialist spinners in australia under dhoni and our results with that are known to everyone. umesh, shami, ishant all were available in previous teams along with zaheer and other pacers but they were forced to play the role of supporting the spinners even in australia. The batting collapse today was very dissapointing but blaming kohli for it is not a good argument at all imo

I don't believe that Kohli isn't responsible for this collapse. Like this isn't the first time where we haven't done well with the bat and have failed miserably. This has happened many times:-
Cape Town, 2018
Centurion, 2018
Edgbaston, 2018
Lord's, 2018
Southampton, 2018
Wellington, 2020
Christchurch, 2020
Adelaide, 2020

So this is a good number of matches where our batting has consistently failed to deliver. So now whose responsibility it is to look after this? It is obviously the Captain, the coach and the selection committee. If a team consistently fails to deliver it is the Captain who addresses this issue. And today's performance was worser than the word pathetic!!!! This is the lowest ever score for India in Test Cricket and the 7th lowest overall. And when you already had similar issues 7 times earlier and you fail for the 8th time then there is no excuse. It is the Captain's fault to some extent.
