India tour of Australia Nov'20-Jan'21

As for any call to drop both Rohit and Kohli, the time to move on from them realistically will be post-23 WC when we have a core with international experience in Iyer, Gill, Shaw, Pant, Garg, Nagarkoti/Mavi and Jaishwal with senior pros like Agarwal, Rahul, Bumrah, Kuldeep and Hardik in the mix. Till then, we have to go with them. Voluntarily choosing to do a South Africa-esque transition will be just shooting ourselves in the foot.
dont forget that its 4 years for that and we may see some new prodigies in few years. plausible.

i guess one of the reason might be because he is not only bcci president but also a great indian cricketer, one of indias greatest captain

we havent seen srinivasan, dalmiya, manohar, thakur and other bcci presidents indulging in selection talks

but with sourav its different
he himself is quite open about talking about things

I did mention that but having him talk about such stuff when we've got a panel of selectors and others involved in the entire process makes them feel redundant. If he were an outsider offering his views on the new squad released then that is one thing, hell he could even offer his thoughts when requested after the news is out. Instead Ganguly seems extremely proactive in all of this, to the point that he also seems to be making decisions in here. I've already said it, but I hate the whole 'too many cooks spoil the broth' problem which is often what happens when we have one too many 'leaders' involved in aspects of the sport where they normally are not supposed to be.

The new jersey looks hideous, just now managed to catch a glimpse of it. Byjus is a despicable company while it seems like MPL isn't any better. To have them front and centre in the new jersey is awful. Quite simply put, the players look like walking billboards wearing this crap!
its always the issue

i guess the sahara one looked the best as it had the indian tri colour stokes in its own logo
even Star logo looked decentish

oppo wasnt looking good imo
byjus just destroys it

and boy oh boy
Nike to MPL
its just like going from South Bombay to Dharavi

there can be two things to this

1. Ganguly purposely chooses to do so, to show everyone that he is the boss, atleast in BCCI if not in the Indian team.
2. There is something really fishy going on with in BCCI/Staff/Players/Indian Team which the board doesnt want to come out in open, hence he is trying to cover up by bring the man in charge.

The 'Sharma' India will miss in Australia is Ishant. Not Rohit.

Definitely, without Ishant there is a massive imbalance in the Indian pace battery. The Indian pacers are known to keep things tight and make it difficult for the opposition to score more runs and Ishant has been exceptional with this. Missing him is like taking out the life from the Indian pace bowling department.

Not to forget that he is the most experienced player of the lot, and also is the Workhorse of the team.

Apparently it was Nike who did not want the new deal as they were not making enough money from the jerseys that they envisioned. People aren't idiotic to splurge 2000 rupees on a 'branded' jersey when they can get four such similar jerseys of good quality elsewhere. I would have loved to see the BCCI partner up with some local manufacturer at worst in that scenario rather than hire MPL to license out a kit maker for them as the middleman.

i wasnt taking about the sponsor deal part

i was just talking about the aesthetics of the logo

Nike logo looked classy on the indian jersey, it was simple yet powerful, that tick on the right side of the jersey looked elegant.
cut to that big ugly red spot with white backdrop stating MPL, ew.

The more I hear Kohli, the more I feel he is right. In fact, if Rohit has made himself unavailable for selection, how is the BCCI to blame? Questions should be asked of Mumbai Indians and Rohit Sharma. Not Kohli and the BCCI. I know they need to tie this loose string together and have first right contractually on the players but IF Rohit has made himself unavailable for selection and done so in writing, what the hell is the BCCI supposed to do? Saha is in Australia and doing his rehab. I have a feeling this saga will prolong itself.

That Retro kit is looking good.

Just fonts on back is way too large.

Meanwhile Bumrah has steamed up from late 130s to mid 140s.

Is the overlay on Sony Six the same as that from FOX (I'm assuming they are the broadcasters in Australia) ? Doesn't look as good as the ones in the previous years.
