India tour of England 2018

Is Ishant Sharma bowling well ? A big big tour of him to prove his credibility has been around for a long time (10 years now) and a lot depend on him if India are to do well especially with the the absence of Bhuvi in the bowling department.

Great to see David Gower in the comm box after a long time.

Well ... that escalated quickly !!

First session to England. Second sessions to both.

We need the next session to be ours to make an even day (3-4 wickets in the last sessions needed)

Been bowling with control. However, posed very little wicket taking threat.

Unbelievable comeback from India. A couple of bad decisions (from England) and individual quality has put them in this position. Love how a team can go from having a 4/10 day to 8/10 day within minutes, what a beautiful sport this is.

Still a decisive 20-odd overs to go from here on. England could still wrestle back the advantage with a counter-attacking 50 by Stokes and Curran. An even game at the moment. As an Indian fan, Ashwin's performance has been very reassuring today. I thought Kohli bowled Pandya for far too long after tea. We gave away too many easy runs in the first half an hour after tea, leading up to the Root runout.

Ashwin doing a brilliant job here. I have to say, his improvement as a bowler abroad has been remarkable. I always believed in his batting ability. I would have bet anything on this team had Bhuvi been fit and Rahane been leading!!

Pandya going at 4's and didn't look like taking a wicket once. Are we saying he's a better batsman than Nair? IMHO, Jadeja at 8 would have been the perfect choice. He would have given good overs for not much and he's about the same batsman and fielder. It's pathetic selection!

Pandya's selection is like Binny being in the XI in the 2014 tour. It ain't winning you matches overseas. A very defensive selection given all the talk of winning that the Kohli/Shastri duo do in the pre-tour conferences. Imagine having Kuldeep up your sleeve against the lower order. That is where we struggle the most.

I'd like to see Ashwin bowl with a silly point and without a square leg. Let Stokes sweep.[DOUBLEPOST=1533140588][/DOUBLEPOST]

I would first pick Jadeja and then if it doesn't work then Kuldeep. Jadeja's runs are also vital.

Too early. Our perennial nemesis (not being able to wipe off the lower order/tail) could still comeback to haunt us. I am still not confident enough though I would say that India have started off the series a tad more than decent here, with the ball. Especially as others have said here, Ashwin's bowling has been a psychological 'serotonin boost' for us and hope it continues through this test and into the series.

Good to see Shami among the wickets. A firing Shami will be fantastic for India. Still fingers crossed for us to avoid the 'inefficient tail cleanup' tag that we have carried for too long.

I have a feeling that England will either go in just 6 down or end up being 8/9 down tonight.

I personally think we've been fortunate with the wickets we've got! I thought Malan's was a terrible decision.
