India tour of England 2018

India start off the test series with a mighty controversial decision! I mean, dropping Pujara for Dhawan, who got a twin pair in the warmup game while Pujara batted time and scored 23 in the second innings of that same game? What explanation really can be given for choosing Dhawan over Pujara? Also if I was Pujara, I must be cursing myself for even taking the time out to go and play county cricket in England where this test series is happening. He could have played some good domestic games, garnered easy runs for himself.

I feel very bad for him. I wanted him to get one last chance to prove himself and then if he fails, his case be rested. Well... I hope destiny can be kind enough to Pujara and give him one more chance atleast for the hard yards he put on in county cricket!

Current partnership already 41 in just 10 overs ... need a wicket soon else these two are going to run away

If I were Kohli, I`d take 275/6 at stumps, given how the wicket has played today. Its a true batting track.

Fair point. But we need the "6" part of 275/6

Not sure why Ashwin is bowling around the wicket to right handers. Maybe they are trying to strangle the run scoring further to induce some mistakes from the batsmen

I expect a few to fall in a cluster again after tea, with the seamers fresh again. We have not let them go away anywhere since lunch. 162/3 at lunch on day one is an even day I`d reckon. Pandya has been good with the control so far.

First session to England. Second sessions to both.

We need the next session to be ours to make an even day (3-4 wickets in the last sessions needed)

This is an English forum. Please post in coherent English, or do not post at all.

Your posts are mindnumbingly useless.
No need to be harsh on other members. Obviously, English is not his first language like many of us. Atleast he is trying to communicate with others and he will improve over time.

As an Aussie this is hard to say but Bairstow is definitely the best and most consistent wk batsman in the world atm

If it helps your pessimism the first 2 sessions clearly show a 5-0 England win (@asprin)

I don't see whats so pessimistic about my post there?

If you are watching the game, it is clearly obvious that our bowling is lacking the penetration required to get wickets on a good batting wicket. There is only so long you can bowl a disciplined line. You need atleast one bowler who can make something happen from one end while the other end is tied up. We are unable to find that guy. I think this is more of a realistic analysis than a pessimistic one

I think you are taking my post a tad too seriously :p

Finally Root is gone. Getting Bairstow before the new ball would be perfect!

That was the only way we could have got him out today ... brilliant stuff from Kohli on top of a poor call for second there
