India tour of South Africa

Thats an absolute bonus by Raina 2 overs 15 runs plus a wicket and this is exactly why you need a player like him in the squad all the time can contribute in all three departments.

South Africa conceded 20 runs too many with the drop catches, misfields and bit of extras a target of 140 - 150 would have been par on this deck.

That was an expensive over. 31 in 11 is totally achievable :(

What an innings by Jonkers! Nearly pulled out an improbable victory for South Africa.

What a knock by Jonkers. Good win for India and its really good to see winning atleast the limited over series. This has been a fantastic series and thank you South Africa as usual for the hospitality and fantastic run of play.

I am pretty sure India has learnt a lot and they do not make the same mistake in other away tours especially with team selection. Off to hibernate mode for Indian cricket as I have 0 interest in the upcoming tri nation T20 series in Sri Lanka. See you in Australia vs South Africa thread and post that in IPL thread :)

This thread about a series crossed 100 pages.. a record I guess.

Anyway, it was a thrilling finish. Did not think SA will come close to the target after JP and Morris were dismissed. Jonker was freaking good.

So many positives for SA to take. Jonker, Klassen and Dala, all three new players came out good. It was a great tour for us. Even though we lost Test series, it was close one. And we had a great outing in LO. It was a good tour. Thank you SA !

Now, I want to ask @abhi_jacko? Not much difference between the situation today and the other day. Raina comes on, picks a wicket and most importantly provides options and induces false shots when the lefties are on.

Our success is down to the quality of the overall team and it has nothing to do with the management or captain (minus his batsmanship).

I think, I called for two wrist spinners prior to the CT. That's worked. I think Pandey and Raina have worked? Fair to say, put Dhoni at 4 in LOI and we're sorted?

I'm not here to brag. @SaiSrini has been saying similar things. I think when you select Asish Nehra (who deserved his send off) but say Raina didn't pass a fitness test which Nehra did.. I think you're basically playing the fool with the public and doing what the hell you like.

It's not like we have seen more cricket or know more cricket than Kohli. It's an outsiders opinion which Kumble was not scared to provide. Shastri is more like verbal diarrhoea who will nod his head and at best pick on great writers like Monga in PC.

Excellent tour this from a neutral perspective, but still pretty good tour of the Indian fans here. It has been fantastic watching both teams battling on in the Test series and in the T20's. The ODI's were a bit one sided, but India have found two great wristies in Kuldeep and Chahal. Players like Bumrah and Bhuvi have vastly improved throughout the tour. This tour really showed how the Indian team can win overseas if the right things are done. They showed guts and determination since the 3rd test match and were relentless from there. Hopefully, India can do the same by winning in the other big oversea countries like Australia and England.

On SA, it has been very disappointing and many expected more from them. However, there have been big positives for them like the emergence of a middle order batsman who can replace Miller or Duminy in the middle order. Bowlers like Junior Dala and Ngidi have been impressive as well. Jonker also proved today that he can seriously hit it out of the park if he could. Many positives for them, equally disappointing by the senior guys like Amla, Miller and Duminy. I hope they can soon get it together.

This has been a real pleasure having SA hosting the Indian team, a big thank you from us here. :yes
