India tour of England 2018

Feel disappointed with Umesh even after playing for nearly 10 years he can’t use his brain and leak runs is very disappointing.

Yadav has been really poor. Shami has surprisingly found his rhythm in the first spell itself. It was the opposite in the practice match

Goes on to show, that practice matches hardly ever give the right picture.

Englan's session so far easily. They have hardly been challenged much by our bowlers

If Sky really wanted perspective of a spinner in the commentary box, they should have brought in Anil Kumble. Harbhajan Singh is the last guy I would bring to do English commentary.

Spot on there. A weird choice really.[DOUBLEPOST=1533124055][/DOUBLEPOST]

Its a flat wicket. I can see a long couple of days here.

^ I don't think Kumble would have been keen on commentating given the history he has had with the team as a coach. Who knows, perhaps the Sky team's first choice was Kumble and he declined.

I expect a spurt of wickets in the post-lunch session, with Shami and Umesh getting reverse swing. Also, I do not understand why Pandya is bowling in the first session. If anything, Ashwin should be bowling more.

This is a slow slow track. Reminds me of Nottingham in 2014. Hope its not a snoozefest like that one. The good thing for India is that England have not got away in terms of runs scored. At any point if they lose quick wickets, India would be right in. Similar to Centurion earlier this year. However, this is test cricket and we fans need to understand that games can suddenly become lively at random.

There is definite movement there, maybe reverse. Time for the seamers to get them 150/4 or better. My prediction for today: 175/3 at lunch and 270/6 at stumps.

India's problem will be the batting to follow. We do alright when the batsmen are not taking us on. However, Bairstow, Stokes and Butler won't let Ashwin bowl it on a length consistently. With Malan and Jennings, the game never moved ahead. Now, we can be sure that it will keep constantly moving. This is a wicket where you will see more bowleds and lbws than slip catches. So, it has to be Shami/Umesh with the reverse to do the damage for the rest of the day.
