Are you crazy? You want a Stuart Binny over Varun Aaron? Just to beef up our batting? Jadeja is already an allrounder. When you have Aaron and Ishwar Pandey in the bench, you cant waste that spot for Binny. If Binny has to play, we should play only one spinner and play Binny.

Binny has to be there if Ashwin is not there, to provide strength to our batting. (all rounder skills)
If you have to include Varun or Pandey, the only option is to leave out Jadeja, which I think has less probability.

Better to play with 3 pace bowlers, 1 all rounder pace bowler and 1 all rounder spin bowler then......

And Rohit is nothing more than a waste on oversea pitches. We all know how big a spin specialist he is and weak pace facer.... Still he facing some swing in early overs with some struggling style.... He should be either a 4th place batsman or a bench player in overseas. Doesn't matter I'm Ro's fan, Dhoni needs to show strictness.

I hope we see a new Irfan Pathan when he starts bowling again in the domestic circuit. He would definitely be an effective piece in the puzzle that is the Indian starting XI

So, what the hell happened to Ishant Sharma?

Ishant Sharma, Irfan Pathan, Ashish Nehra, Munaf Patel, RP Singh, and so on.
All of them regularly bowled balls over 145 kph at some point early on in their careers and looked like they would end up with 250 wickets at 25 by the time they finished.

Remember Perth 2008? Remember the MCG ODI on that tour? There was Ishant, bowling at 150 kph+ and being compared to Jason Gillespie by the Australian commentators. Here he was five years later doing his best impression of Ronnie Irani having a bad day with the ball.

So, what the hell happened to Ishant Sharma?

Here are some reasons :-

1) The dead wickets we play on in India, excessive ODI cricket which tires out our bowlers, poor fitness levels which leads to injuries, etc.

But Is it the core issue ? Certainly Not.

2) The real issue is :- 'Lack of Attitude' i.e ?Lack of Natural aggression?. This doesn't mean sledging or abusing the batsman but desire to get the batsman out at every instant of the game.

It?s not just pace . It?s all in the attitude ? Indian fast bowlers, unlike their Pakistani counterparts, too often get into a defensive mode of just bowling line and length and trying to build pressure rather than actually trying to get people out.

3) Bowling coaches :- The BCCI?s solution to our fast bowling woes has always been ? hire a bowling coach from a non-Asian country. What will a state cricketer from South Africa or Australia know on how to bowl fast in Indian conditions?

Note :- I am not the author of this article. I have summarised a beautiful article on 'Sportskeeda'.

I think Ishwar Pandey should be given a chance in the next game instead of Ishanth Sharma.
Ishant Sharma has been given a lot of chances but he did not utilize them. :noway

I think Dhawan should also be dropped and Rahane should open.:yes

Stuart Binny? Um... no. He can't bat or bowl very well. Plus the combination of Binny with two spinners makes no sense. If we're getting rid of Ashwin (and we should), make it a straight swap with Mishra. Batting isn't the problem. Ishant has to go, if only to send a message that consistent failure gets you kicked out of the team, something both Rohit and Dhawan would do well to think about. I say give them another go but replace Ishant with Varun Aaron.

Get Rohit out & have get Rahane IN.
Get Ishant out & have Aaron IN.

That's it, too much of change is not good either. And, if anyone has expected anything big from Rohit & Ishant, even before this tour - they must really wake up, damn dream is over! Rohit was never a good player anytime & his 200 in ODI is just embarrassing for other two greats(especially Tendulkar) to be on that list of players for scoring > 200!

Get Rohit out & have get Rahane IN.
Get Ishant out & have Aaron IN.

Want to play with 10 players? Rahane already on the squad.... Dhoni just need to do one thing that Keep Rahane as an opener and bring in Rayudu.

My picks for 3rd ODI

Dhawan
Rohit
Kohli
Rahane
Dhoni
Raina
Stuart Binny
Ashwin
Bhuvi
Varun Aaron
Shami

It will be absolutely hilarious if Ishant is somehow picked again, even Gavaskar has had a go at him.

Am I missing something here? Why are people in love with Stuart Binny? Mediocre record in both FC and List-A. I don't remember a great standout IPL performance either.
