India tour of New Zealand - Jan to Feb 2014

Kohli is 2nd best when it comes to test batting. Pujara is our best test batsman.

THIS.

----------

They are bowling bouncers at the speed 127 Km/h. I mean WTH is wrong with them?

They are selected is what's wrong with them. We have faster bowlers warming the benches. We can do with one medium pacer, but more than that is just way too much.

They're not only slow, but they constantly stray on the pads. This is basic stuff, really.

hahahaha, oh god, I feel like Ishant Sharma is going to get selected in the next ODI series again after this match. He's been gifted 4 wickets. 2 were poor shots, 1 off a half-volley, and 1 was an umpiring mistake.

He is going to be our bowling spearhead for WC2015. :rolleyes We could possibly see the repeat of WC2007 and then bulk of players go retried/sacked after WC2015 with new team constructed again with promises. Kohli will go popular as captain like MSD & history repeats until WC2019. LOL!

On the plus side for Indian fans, if McCullum can score 150+ today we'll never dismiss Kohli on this pitch, so hopefully you can't find another batsman in your team that wants to stick around with him, otherwise pick a god and pray for rain...

Actually otherway, McCullum was too late to utilize the weakest bowling link to come back to his form.Slow in the race! :p

My conclusions from watching the first session of both days of the test matches:

1. Sharma got the worst 5-for that I've ever seen
2. India's fielding is the worst of any international team

This pitch isn't a 500 run pitch; so New Zealand are definitely on top...

Pujara is our best test batsman.

Really feeling a bit sorry for you Indian fans, you deserve much better than this from your team. Wth was Pujara doing there?

So it's all down to Kohli? I think I have seen this movie before.

...and now he's out.

The thing about Pujara is that the vast majority of his runs are in India; which means that it is logical that his average will be higher than many other nations. Isn't this only his second series outside of India?

e: haha, even though I don't really support either team here, I'm rather enjoying seeing India lose.

e2: y'know, it'd be nice if there was some system to allow batsmen to review these decisions that they aren't sure about...

Who's embarassed? You? Why so?:rolleyes

Kohli - act all the nonsense you want, but it doesn't take away the fact that you were out. Stay your ground in case an umpire gives you not out wrongly, thats fine. But don't do all these drama after being given out....:mad If this guy reduces all this, he will be even more liked.

Hopefully New Zealand win this series 2-0. Not because I dislike India, but it would be nice if New Zealand can start winning and build towards becoming a good side. Also, after the Pomnishambles and a poor India display in this tour (following on from their loss against South Africa) it might show that some of the ICC proposals are lunacy.

That said, I still think India are in with a shout in this test match.

Yeah, and although this is true, he averaged ~40 against Steyn and co. which is pretty good for a first away series (esp given that SA has the best bowling unit in world cricket). That average could've been higher, but Kohli selfishly ran him out in one of the innings.

The ICC proposals are based on the business aspect of cricket. India, by far, has the largest following in cricket. The BCCI brings in $$$. That's all that matters. The series wont have much bearing on it, except it might save NZ from being compared to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. They might be placed in a higher tier.

Agreed. I find it a bit annoying. I understand he sets his standards high, but there's no need for the Indian soap opera facial expressions and reactions when he's given out. I find it hilarious because he's been doing this when he is legitimately out. Not fooling anyone, Kohli.

Oh, am I seeing a different match played on different pitch? Bangladesh innings was great to watch, really!

There is nothing to be embarrassed about. He is our best test batsman. His major runs have came in India because this is only his third overseas series. He was fantastic in South Africa against an even better bowling attack.
