India tour of New Zealand - Jan to Feb 2014

Not to forget, NZ take the new ball in less than 20 overs. Shouldn't lose wickets before the new ball happens - especially Dhawan's

.

The psychological aspect of having a 2-digit target can't be underestimated.
.

Yeah am also awaiting for the target to go to 90s. Bangladesh proved their class yesterday in 4th innings & if India makes it today - it will take tests to a classy level where opponents setting target > 400 need to bend their back hard to earn that victory!

For sure, and I think this is where Rahane at 6 works tremendously, his experience going up against the new ball and seeing it off when he used to open will only help.

Whoo. What a gripping passage of play. Great skill and effort by Boult and Wagner, and equally great application and patience from Rohit and Dhawan. Fantastic.

Gtta love test cricket ... it requires patient viewing (following), but situations like these are just so rewarding satisfying.

What the hell got into Rohit on that occassion

It's not done. It's just a lot more difficult now, but definitely still possible.

Rahane, Dhoni and Jadeja against the new ball is not an ideal scenario for me. It is extremely difficult now.

Yay for Ish Sodhi!

India's new plan for cricket domination: fill all other teams with mediocre spinners! It's probably a better overseas winning strategy than anything we have now.

At least Rahane is an opening bat, can manage the new ball. Worried about Rohit tbh. Don't even want to think about having Dhoni in within 20 overs of the new ball.

This partnership needs to take us to within 80 IMO.
