India tour of New Zealand - Jan to Feb 2014

If this kid Adam Milne were to be played regularly in this series and potentially come of age - he could be serious threat to IND. Bowling speeds between 145 -153ks vs the windies at the moment.

^ And just when I thought India might not need to worry about speeds in this series......

Here is Adam Milne's spell last night if anyone has missed it. Definitely looks talented but I don't think he will be there in test squad. He looks more like limited overs guy NZ is looking for right now.

I am surprised to see Raina still being in the ODI team despite struggling throughout the last year. If they have removed Yuvraj, than I am not sure what Raina is still doing there because he had pretty similar record to Yuvraj. Pujara has to be there in the WC team so we have to give him some matches before the WC starts. Stuart Binny is also a weird choice because he has a very poor List A record. He had a decent IPL last year but you can't have both him and Jadeja in the final 11 because they pretty much play a similar role. Hopefully we will see Varun Aaron getting his chance because his death bowling is probably the best I have seen from an Indian bowler.

Shikhar Dhawan
Rohit Sharma
Virat Kohli
Ajinkya Rahane/Ambati Raydu
MS Dhoni
Suresh Raina
Ravindra Jadeja/Stuart Binny
Ravi Ashwin
Bhivneshwar Kumar/Ishant Sharma
Varun Aaron
Shami Ahmed

^ For which team?

hmm... reminds me of a certain team...

Okay I admit that I left the other option of being inspired by team that seems to have fights like who is bigger - coach or the star player when the game is meant for a team! Yes, England!

^ That seems odd. Haven't seen Vettori play an international since a long time. Has he been playing domestic cricket?

EDIT: Opps! Completely missed out on the word "not"

That is good for NZ in a way, he just doesn't want to be in the end where greatest players like Saqlain ended up towards the end of their respectable careers.

Was impressed when I read Dhoni's press meeting in cricinfo, exactly what I assumed team India to be in. They won't consider NZ lightly but at the same time pressure is high for the host to restore the pride of how India-NZ series in NZ used to be in the past.

^ It would be ridiculous if NZ don't play both of them. Ryder has a great record against India and playing Ish Sodhi against India would be a suicidal move. So both of them should play and Kane Williamson can roll his arms over if needed.

I hope they don't rush Milne into the Test team, he's averaging 42 with an ER of 3.5 this FC season and 4 over T20 and 10 over OD spells aren't going to prepare him for having to bowl for up to five sessions straight. I'd hate to see him breakdown and miss the T20 WC.

Surely hes nowhere near the test team? I'm pretty sure they'll just treat him like McClenaghan and keep him for the short form stuff. I must say I'm a bit worried about Sodhi and Wagner in the tests though, the way they bowled against WI they will get annihilated against India. I'd probably consider Gillespie as the third seamer.

If the pitch warrants inclusion of Sodhi, then New Zealand have already lost half the battle. From what little I saw of him in the WI series, the Indian batsmen will look to feast on him.

Decent bat, though.
