India tour of New Zealand - Jan to Feb 2014

Absolutely pathetic from Guptill, hes done this all summer so far. Starts off 5 off about 30 balls builds the pressure on Ryder to score who then gets out. Its pretty selfish batting if you ask me, you can't afford to have someone bat like that in ODI cricket these days.

Guptil gameplay was always like that, likes to start in a steady way. This is 50 overs game & it should be fine.

Well, really clueless on what Ishant is doing without any shame. He should retire :D

It's raining here at my place, heavily. So I could not go outside and thought of watching the match.
But it's raining there too !!!:noway

Want a new idea for rain interruptions? Instead of NZ resuming here, INDIA should start their innings... If this is one of those games where NZ bats 45 overs but India's innings can't get to 20 overs, its just been a waste of time. I reckon any team that has batted at least 20 overs, and has just had at least a 30 minute rain delay should start bowling on resumption. Make every effort to get at least 20 overs each side. India would have no official target, although of course being ahead of D/L would be in their best interests. Then NZ could resume their innings later if time permitted and they would have a new D/L target based on India's innings.

What a catch in the crowd, I suppose you're always in with a chance when Ishants bowling.

It's really painful to see the way Indians bowl. 100+ runs in 8 overs  For a second there I thought I was watching gameplay from the Ashes 2013 video game.

I think it would need a miracle now for India to win this and retain their No.1 position in ODIs

It's not painful. All you have to do is cheer the batting team while they're bowling and laugh at their pathetic attempts. :cheers

You have to realize that the problem is that for some reason, the selectors and Dhoni just don't learn. Ishant Sharma failing isn't a new story. Ashwin doing poorly outside of India isn't new either. Raina failing against the short ball isn't new. Rohit Sharma getting out cheaply isn't new.

So whenever these things occur, which they always do because these players never learn, you cheer them in hopes of it finally getting through the selectors' heads.

So frustrated seeing rohit sharma bat this slow when its only 42overs match and 300 almost to chase. Pathetic approach, this is the time i miss viru and gambhir cause they were fearless. Inspite out of form or not they used to go hard from moment one

----------

And this is what happens freaking sharma. All Sharmas should be out of the team

People watching Indian cricket might feel they don`t have other fast bowlers apart from Sharma. Its so sad for two genuinely quick bowlers in Yadav and Aaron that their captain keeps picking a woefully bad seamer who can neither stop the runflow nor get wickets. And he keeps picking him day in and day out. How much worse can the youngsters do! Give them a series or two and see how they step up. Its getting to a point where there is absolutely no logic to justify Dhoni`s love for Ishant Sharma.

One thing is clear now in ODIs, you need bowlers who can get wickets for you. Shami does that and Bhuvi is pretty honest at it and will get wickets. If we can get in another seamer who can rattle the opposition, our attack will look far more settled. If only Dhoni has the balls to pick Yadav and Aaron and give them an extended run. I`d be okay with us losing while trying out new talent in the bowling department. There is nothing left in Ishant that holds any promise and its not a case of him improving with each game either!

Dhoni was not middling the ball at all tonight. He could not accelerate at all. It was done long before him. He just gave blind hope because of his past performances.
