When did you change your supporting player from Karthik to Badrinath? " Karthik is a legend! " is what I remember you saying some time back ;)

The test match starts @ 3.15 as per Indian's time. whooops, I have to keep alarm and get up. Its too tough! May be I will stay overnight in office and will come @ 3 to home :p Lets see.

And regarding Rohit Sharma, I still believe he has plenty of cricket left with him. The way he played with Sachin in CB series makes me to have belief in him still. Com'on guys, he may be in bad form but we cannot tolerate another talented player getting rusted like Irfan Pathan  I would also like to see Badri in the team as well.

Rohit (Cricketman, not Rohit Sharma:p) has always been a Badri fanatic.

This time, we (USA viewers) get good timings while you guys suffer:p. For us, the tests start at 7pm (EST). Will be lot of fun. Dont worry. You guys get the big chunk of the games played in India and the subcontinent. Your time will soon come.

Regarding Rohit, I might be too harsh on him. But he has to go back to domestic cricket and get his game back on track. He hurt us so much that we lost because of him. He has a technical flaw in his batting where his head position is not proper (Martin Crowe talked about it). He has to work on it. Guys like Badri, Uthappa, Tiwary, Kohli, etc are waiting in the wings.

You people will feel amazed that i have decided not to watch any Test match untill unless Badrinath gets a call. It's called Gandhigiri.

Looks like the pitch for the first test will be friendly for the seamers. Lets see how India fare on this pitch. Would be very interesting.

I guess Balaji will play in place of Munaf Patel, and that will be good. Balaji's wrist position will generate good swing and in these conditions, he will be a handful along with Zaheer and Ishant.

.

He still is and I still support Karthik. But Badri deserves a spot in the XI more and KKD has time on his side.

I hope for seaming tracks since I'd much rather see an Ishant-Zaheer masterclass than seeing sides put up 600 runs in each innings.

Also, I wonder if we are strong enough with our tail to play 5 bowlers in the Tests:

Gambhir
Sehwag
Dravid
Tendulkar
Yuvraj
Dhoni*+
Harbhajan
Zaheer
Mishra
Balaji
Ishant

Would definitely be a gamble..

I am keeping my fingers crossed! :upray :upray :upray Hopefully, Indians play some sensible cricket. Dravid should not repeat his last abroad tour Vs Aussies!

haha, Balaji! :p Anyways I am hoping Zaheer and Ishant to play the key role. I rarely doubt whether Harbhajan will have any success.

So,

Zaheer
Ishant
Balaji
Baji

This is going to be our bowling line-up. I am hoping,
Zaheer
Ishant
Sehwag

To be the key wicket takers :D Lets see how far my prediction goes true..

Whooo go USA viewers! This is honestly the earliest test match I get to watch here. It's going to be at 6 PM I think.

As for Rohit Sharma, I was his fan during the CB series and honestly thought he was going to be our next super star. I think he may still have it in him and I do agree with you that he needs to go back to domestics. Lots of people have come back strong after being dropped and showing their worth in the domestics. Raina and Gambhir being recent examples actually.

You people will feel amazed that i have decided not to watch any Test match untill unless Badrinath gets a call. It's called Gandhigiri.

Except nobody's going to be noticing or caring!! :p (Just a joke)

Surely Laxman over Yuvraj and why would we need five bowlers in New Zealand?

Laxman over Mishra. We need seamers on these tracks, UV King of Sixers! King of T20! Can chip in with a few overs of spin as well as Sehwag if needed.

if its a seamers pitch expect india to suprise all the doubter here, zaheer and ishant will be all ov er the kiwis and i expect munaf to be the 3rd seamer if he is fit.

What is sreesanth doing these days?

My team in batting order.

Sehwag
Ghambhir
Laxman
Sachin
Yuvi
Dravid
Dhoni
Irfan/Balaji
Harbhajan
Zak
Ishant

I cant wait for this.

Cricinfo - The Tests are here

After facing two balls from Ishant, Tendulkar went up to the bowler and asked, "Are you trying to get it to move in?" The first two deliveries hadn't actually moved in. Ishant replied in the affirmative and Tendulkar went on to tell him he was making it too obvious. "It seems you are trying too hard to move it in," Tendulkar said, and went on to show him the release that was required - not a big jerk of the wrist, but a smooth push just before letting the ball go. "You might over-pitch for a while, but keep trying it. First get the release right, the rest will come automatically."

Ishant over-pitched for a while, slowly getting the inward movement going until he beat Tendulkar with one that nipped in sharply. "Ye achcha tha [This one was better]," came the acknowledgment. The exchange was as much as an acknowledgment of how well Tendulkar knows the game (he could see, while trying to focus on his batting, what was wrong with the bowler's wrist at the time of release) as also the fact that containment was not the key here. Ishant was ready to bowl loose deliveries just to get back his No. 1 delivery.

The next batsman in the same net was Virender Sehwag. The first ball he faced from Ishant jagged back in, got the inside edge, hit the thigh and took the leg stump. It's good that the Tests are around.
