Good win by NZ Today, Gives India something to think about ahead of the Tests.

Anyone know if there was a Man Of the Series award?

If there is there's really only 1 candidate. I don't even think I need to name him.

I wish Vettori would move on from Martin, he's looked horrible ever since being dropped out of the side in FC cricket, No way he should be near the test team with his current form in the longer game so far.

Arnel wasn't that huge of a shock selection IMO, he's been one of the best bowler in the comp for the past 3 seasons. Therefore his selection was well deserved and hopefully he rewards the faith with some a good performance with the ball this series.

My XI 1st Test:

1. Guptill
2. McIntosh
3. Flynn
4. Taylor
5. Ryder
6. McCullum
7. Franklin
8. Vettori
9. Mills
10. O'Brien
11. Arnel/Patel

Ewen Thompson?

I choked on some orange juice reading that. :D

I also really liked this pitch. NZ should've really laid out all green tops IMO. I hope the tests are like this.

really good win by NZ,INDIA lost there chance to beat NZ for 5-0,
hope they can do it in tests:cheers

These wickets are a rarity these days.... And even then, our batsmen were overconfident and that led to their dismissal rather than saying that we came unstuck when we got swinging conditions (the conditions rather than the wicket helped). Dhoni got it all wrong, opting to bat first.

I wont say India struggle when they get swinging conditions. India are in the same position and have a very good chance to beat NZ in the tests too. We are even better in the test format these days.

I though wish that Rohit Sharma is dumped once and for all. Useless idiot!!!! Got Sehwag out by pressurizing him at the other end. Even though Bhajji and Zak are tail enders, they are decent batters and this guy gets both of them run out by poor running.

The wicket wasn't THAT bad at all. Sehwag, Ryder, Guptill and Taylor still batted fine on it. It was a normal NZ wicket. A tad slow but still you can adjust and play well on it. India didn't adjust and NZ Bowled MUCH MUCH better. I think that just like the Indians outplayed us last game we outplayed India here.

Ryder proves that there is still a place in international cricket for the beer bellied alcoholic

Did anyone else notice how fast Ryder was bowling yesterday, he got up to 136kmp. If he actaully worked on his bowling more, and got a bigger run up I could see him hitting the 140 mark.

Add that to the fact he can swing the ball abit, and gets abit of movement he could be a handy bowler.

Like how Sanjay and Ravi Shastri were pointing out, the pitch which India played yesterday was a typical Kiwish pitch. The way it looked it surprised the Indian batsmen with seam and movement.. Remember in SA? We struggled against quality pace on those kind of tracks.

So I am afraid, if NZ are going to select such pitches like yesterday, we can expect the result in 4 days too. So I am still keeping the fingers crossed. :upray Playing on flat tracks and winning it is not a problem... but giving them a tough competition in all kind of tracks is what you call it a 'Quality!'.

And one thing which was worse to see is, the presentation ceremony. It was not at all properly hosted. They were not bothered to interview the players too. Dhoni came and spoke like he is giving some speech on the stage. And even while receiving the cup, suddenly he has been handed down the cup .. No proper oration.. Or I was seeing in some separate channel( it was Set Max)? Presentation ceremony was horrible to watch in my opinion.

he doesnt deserve to be in the team anymore,he is just a pretender and his true colours are showing

Maybe you didn't get all of it. They interviewed Ryder, Dhoni and Vettori after a few people spoke and then the Indian team gathered with the cup and stuff. I didn't see what was wrong with it.

I saw Ryder being interviewed but Vettori and Dhoni, didn't they spoke by themselves before the mike like giving speaches? I didn't see any people being interviewed except Ryder. And the cup also, as soon as Dhoni spoke on the mike, one person behind came and handed down the cup all of a sudden.

This is what I saw from Set Max TV channel. May be they have cut it down.. I have no idea :)
