Geez NZ falling apart again they are starting to drop down to the standards of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in test cricket. Still will have to see what India does with the bat but right now not looking good.

Wonderful! 60/6 are NZ. Munaf picks up McCullum!

It doesnt seem that the pitch is as bad as the score that NZ are in right now. India have just bowled too well so far with luck aiding them in Franklin's dismissal.

Got to get Vettori. He has the knack of frustrating the opposition with his batting.

Combo of bad luck -> Flynn caught down leg to a bad ball.
bad umpiring -> Franklin
bad shots -> McCullum
and good bowling -> everyone else.

Same shjt different opponent.

India have bowled well but New Zealand just look far too casual and inexperienced (which they are). We needed to win the toss I feel. We like bowling first in tests.

I'm not surprised. This game's over already sadly. When it's our turn to bowl we'll get decisions against us too. We seem to cop it worse than any other side i've ever watched.

Unlucky for Franklin but realistically speaking I think it was an eventuality that he a left hander would nick one going across the way Ishant was bowling. Bit far fetched to say just because he's been in great nick in domestic games you that he would have made a big score to rescue the innings.

I find it absurd that BMac bats at 7. Surely he's one of the best batsman in the team and when a sides been run through you should promote him up the order. Even a promotion for Ryder would've been good since he's in form and has obvoiusly faced the Indian attack before in the ODI's.

Macintosh looked so horribly out of place. The front foot literally goes nowhere and against quality attacks your going to get found out.

If the weather stays good for the next few days it'll look bleak for NZ.

Got to say its great to see Ishant in full flow. I was hoping he would reproduce the form he showed in aus to sort out Ponting and Co. Brilliant signs when you can't just swing across the line freely and you have to work hard for your runs.

It was already said in the cricinfo's preview that seamers do well on this pitch, but I didn't expect that well. But I read in the commentary that the sun has come out and that's probably helping New Zealand, because they currently have a partnership of 53 runs. And Vettori normally bats well at Hamilton and he is showing it again.

Oh no plz India, dont let us see a repeat of Karachi 2006 where Irfan took that hattrick but the Pakistan lower order brought the team back in to eventually win the match.

With McIntosh, I don't think domestic teams have been unable to find him out, as he has an average first class record and an abysmal one-day record. It's just that he has a good ability to concentrate and what he does seems to work well on a dead pitch.

Safe in some ways, but he's mostly playing because he's not been tried before. Redmond and How weren't scoring, while veterans like Bell, Sinclair and Fulton hadn't done much with their limited chances. They went with the guy who has a weight of runs behind him, but as a player he's an in-between choice, not quite a domestic champion and not quite young enough to grow into better habits. It's a selection that appeared justified by him actually scoring runs against the West Indies, but they remain in difficulty with regards to the top order. With all the others who have had a chance and been expunged, I can't see how he is going to avoid the same fate.

As for Sharma, I think you'd want better form than that, he only took 6 wickets in 3 matches. He could better his entire tour of Australia in this innings.

Good fifty from Vettori. Shows that the first innings was just mayhem on part of the NZ batsmen. Had they been even two wickets shorter than what they were, it would have been even more toil for India who are now toiling due to Vettori and Ryder.

This Ryder guy is really impressive. Batted with so much aggression in the ODI's and has now fitted like a glove in the tests. Very impressive!

There you go! The Balaji hatred. You havent even seen him properly after his comeback. One ODI is not enough to base your opinions on him after his comeback.

I hope Balaji picks up a 10-wkt haul and destroys your predictions.

My prediction rarely goes wrong, Sai... :) You keep dreaming! :p As I expected, Zaheer and Ishant are doing it for India till now.

This is going to be our bowling line-up. I am hoping,
Zaheer
Ishant
Sehwag

To be the key wicket takers :D Lets see how far my prediction goes true..:cool:

May be Sehwag will break this crucial partnership.. :D Com'on India.. Zaheer and Ishant being the lonely warriors in bowling department. Now you can see the reason why i am not a big fan of Indian fast bowling department.. Actually, I don't think they have fast bowlers other than these two(Zaheer and Ishant ) :onpc

Anyways, as long as India does well, i enjoy it. :)

Ok, lets see..... A pessimistic like you (with regards to our fast bowlers!) will rarely get it right with the predictions.

surprised that Dhoni hasn't used his part timers yet.

everybody gets those it just depends who you watch the most.

both England and the WI got plenty of bad calls against them during the test series. And the same thing goes when the WI were in New Zealand.

Hundred to Vettori, quite a captain's knock, with style that belies his position at number 8.
