Wow. What a come back from NZ. 6/60 at one stage. Generally you don't expect your number 8-11 to do much expect hang around.

India still on top, despite what some of you are saying. Getting a team out for below 300 in day 1 of a test match is great going. The pitch isn't misbehaving, there's a lil bit of seam and swing but not too much, and I don't think this New Zealand bowling attack is great. I expect Sehwag to fire tomorrow.

All of the above maybe proved to be wrong :-p.

Good day of test cricket today.279 on Day 1 of a test match on a good batting track will not entirely please the Kiwis.I`d like to think that India would be slightly ahead at this stage. The Indian pace attack again proved today that they can use seaming conditions well.
Good to see Munaf striking some rhythm as it does add a lot of balance to the bowling in away tours.

It would`ve been a lot worse for NZ had Vettori and Ryder not come to the party. This is not the first time we have allowed sides to come back after having them on the mat.At 60/6,we should have restricted them to 150 odd.

Vettori bowls best on flatter wickets, so he'll be a threat. If Franklin gets some swing he'll be dangerous and I've been impressed with Iain O'Brien recently, so I wouldn't count this Kiwi side out yet. They did a good job dismissing Australia in Australia, but they had Southee in that game and he was moving it off the seam and in the air. Any reason why Southee's not playing? He's a much better bowler than Mills who's very hot and cold. Can produce unplayable deliveries on his day, but can be plain awful the rest of the time.

Also, Martin ftw, a nice 0* to add to the stats :p

Now I am afraid, that tomorrow's first session .. whether it will go like Kiwi's :( Because first session of tomorrow is so crucial now, especially the first one hour batsmen should not do any mistakes.

I remember in one of the recent test matches between Aus and Sa, they were loosing wickets like pack of cards on every first session but at the same time, there were runs coming in huge as well during the last sessions of the day.

Once again, I keep my fingers crossed! :upray

Geez, where do you find all the pessimism from ?

Wow ! What comeback from vettori and ryder. Hope more excite tonight

Damn, I'm really pissed after having them 60/6. Ishants delivery to Taylor was fabulous. I was just going to to sleep when I heard the sound of stumps being rattled...Also Munaf bowled well, and Zak always bowls well.

the wicket looks pretty flat, the indians should score big and keep the kiwis down.

Yeah there didn't seem to be much in the wickets, It was just excellent bowling and helpful overhead conditions what made it paradise for the Indian Fast Bowlers in the first session.

This is amazing to watch especially at 4 AM, Sehwag run out. Hell Good night again.

Any reason why Southee's not playing?

Because the selectors are stupid. For some reason they're in love with Kyle Mills despite not being a good test bowler.

And on Martin, he faced 5 balls, Martin Crowe said it was the best innings of Martin's career because it allowed Ryder to get his century.

Oh and great runout Franklin! Needed Sehwag badly. I don't feel so bad now. Sure, there's heaps of good batters but with Sehwag there you felt 800-1000 was possible.

Dravid slowing down again! But if he doesnt survive till the 2nd session and does not pick up pace in the second session, the flak on him would rapidly continue mounting.

I hate how they do this, bringing Franklin on after 20 overs. Especially in a situation where he was the only one to even get a wicket in the first 20 overs... :p I mean he's there to swing the ball and the best chance of bowling dangerous swinging deliveries is in the period before he's even been given the ball. If they've picked him as a batting all-rounder, then they're deluded.

Gambhir Gone..

Dravid has to play atleast one big innings (triple century) or else, his place in team would be insecure for the Windies Tour.... Thats for sure...

Finally Martin gets rid of Gambhir.....

G Gambhir c McCullum b Martin Runs:72 Minutes:135 Balls:135 Fours:11 Sixes:0 Strike Rate:53.33

well played Gauti....:clap:clap:clap

What happened to the pitch here? Or has it always been flat? I really hope it becomes unplayable as the match goes on.
