This is the kinda Dhoni I don't like watching. I'm hoping that he's just playing for lunch and will bat freely to get a big lead in the second session.

Yeah, it's like he's reassuring himself that he can play a long innings. I hate when he does that. Sometimes I think he keeps track of his run-ball ratio in his head and slows down on purpose, just to get rid of 'The Dasher' tag. He doesn't have to! Just get the runs!

Sehwag is the only player who didn't carefully play himself in though, so it's hardly unique. With Laxman and Yuvraj failing to get beyond a start, they probably feel another wicket is not yet something worth throwing away and one more big partnership is needed.

Can we have a bit of luck please? Seriously. A bad umpiring decision? A ball actually CARRYING to a fielder? One of those balls chopped off the inside edge actually HITTING the stumps? This is frustrating. Everything going right for India, nothing for NZ.

Great hundred from Sachin with cameos from Yuvraj and Dhoni has placed India in a very wonderful position to win this match. I hope Sachin can continue onto a double hundred so that India can also notch up that double hundred lead which would make it mighty impossible for NZ to survive with a draw in this match.

Agree with sohum! Sachin has has sort of a second coming in the last couple of seasons. He has been in a lovely zone. Earlier Sachin didnt have the right guys who could help him in taking India forward. Now with the past few teams and this team, Sachin has a team that would back him to taking us forward and to the post where we can say "we're the best".

P.s: I do hope that Sachin stops giving heart attacks to his fans when in the 90's. That period when he is in the 90's is very very painful to bear.

India in a superb position now .Ideally, India must look to put them in after tea.This is NZ and we must not take chances with the weather here !
