India tour of Zimbabwe(over and can be closed)

I think that this is purely down to money. English counties don't have the funds available to be able to pay Indian players to play for them.

I mean can you really picture MS Dhoni playing on a cold Aprils day for my side Kent, infront of a man and his dog for peanuts??

I never wants Dhoni to play that way.I asked the young indian seamers to play county.I don"t think that seamers like Praveen Kumar,Yadav,Shami Ahmed,Dinda and even Nehar is that costly for county teams to afford.most of these seamers are looking for a comeback and the Indian conditions are mostly against seamers. So they should try play county cricket for a comeback.

Ok perhaps I over exaggerated, it's not that bad. if the weather is good then attendances will be good.

Anyway, a Zimbabwe select XI is playing against Australia A today in a 3 day game. I know its a completely different format to one day cricket but nevertheless it'll be good practice for Zim playing against some quality opponents.

Is there a broadcast of this game?If yes can you say where it is?

There's no broadcast for this match. Australia A have won the toss and will bat first.

Zimbabwe struggling against Australia A, They're currently 82/5 at the end of day 1.

I like Kyle Jarvis as a bowler, he will always get you wickets but he is a bit on the expensive side.

Cricket side ready for Australia

The trio of Cremer, Vitori and Williams suffered injuries during their preparations which means Zimbabwe have now a squad of 14 players which the coach said is still fine.
Vitori has stitches on his finger while Williams suffered a harmstring injury and Cremer has a leg injury and are all out of the squad.

Three key players all have injuries at the moment, really hope they will be fit in time for the matches against India. :/

Our bowling effort was good, but again we were let down by our batting. :(

Jarvis has been great in Test & FC matches recently. Probably needs to be replaced in the ODI's though.

Yeah this always seems to be the case. If Williams is ruled out of the ODI's against India then that is a big blow. I watched him play against Bangladesh in the ODI's and he played brilliantly.

Well Indian bowling is not a strong one and the Zimbabwe batting is also not that great. The Indian batting is very strong and Zimbabwe bowling is better. So the game could be interesting.:)

the best way for our pacers to learn n improve is to allow em play the county matches outside India

What crap .Zak had a crap workethic and lazy attitude so english county helped him improve those aspects.Guys like ishant have great work ethics but have technical problems like seam position, bad landing which needs a good coach to sort out.

I think this series will be much closer than what we think. India do have a good batting line-up but bowling is not that strong and Zimbabwe might upset India in one of the matches.

Zimbabwe might upset India in one of the matches.

Agreed. Zimbabwe won't win the series but they can definitely cause an upset in one or maybe two of the matches.

I'm mostly looking forward to seeing how the Zimbabweans play against the spinners as this has been there downfall in recent matches.

We we lost 2 out of 2 games against the home team on our last tour of Zimbabwe but we might win this time round given that our bowling unit is better than the one that visited Zimbabwe back then. My eyes will be on Kyle Jarvis, Mohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara. I really want to see them making it big. It is unfortunate that Glenn Querl doesn't get an opportunity due to the flaw in his action. Worse, nobody is looking interested in helping him out.

Well done :zim: a solid start, good to see :ind: has finally given a chance to Rayudu.

He's playing well this Raza fellow. I'd certainly not rate Unadkat and Vinay Kumar even if this series goes well for them. For now, good that they got their chance. Disappointed to see Pujara on the bench, but quite sure he'll get his chance too in his series.

As for Zimbabwe, not really playing spin that well, but doing good atleast not to throw it away. Guess Taylor plays spin wel(?) , should be effective in the last 10 overs then when Kohli would bowl them. 250 on the board for Zimbabwe I think would be very satisfying. Wish them good luck :thumbs

And there goes Taylor:facepalm
