India tour of Zimbabwe(over and can be closed)

Sai please dont bring in the IPL Politics here.I am aware that if Dhoni was the captain and he had played Mohit, several people would be barking 'CSK..CSK..'.Lets not do the same man!

Please!

Coming by your logic, then why did Kohli play MI's Rayudu ahead of RCB's Pujara?

Well, what?:rolleyes
It was quite clear as a selection, even if Dhoni was the captain. Unadkat has a played an International Test before, and as for Mohit Sharma, I mean who is he even? How well has he done in the domestic circuit before? Unadkat has been in the fray, no matter how bad he is/was, but he's been decent in the domestic.

PS- I'm not saying Unadkat should be always in or whatever, I don't rate him as a good bowler either, but just that I didn't understand how can you infer without a clue that Kohli preferred RCB guys?

Mohit Sharma has done very well only recently in domestic cricket and that's what landed him an IPL contract. And he mightily enhanced his reputation in the IPL by being one of the best finds this recent IPL.

Unadkat in comparison has fallen by the wayside after initially promising things. He might have played an international test, but in recent times, people have even doubted how he got picked in the first place ahead of guys like Ishwar Pandey, Siddarth Kaul, Pankaj Singh, etc.

Well, when Dhoni does it, they say "CSK....CSK". When now even Kohli is doing it. Where will they take their faces now?:rolleyes

Another Indian dominating victory, another Kohli century.

Same old, same old.

Cannot comment on IPL performances, but his first class stats do look good. He could have played but I still think Dhoni might have sticked too Unadkat, because he's been in the picture for long no matter what. Mohit Sharma will anyway get his match this series.

Personally I think he's a waste anyway. Again my point was basically why Kohli would play Unadkat simply because he is from RCB. And who says Dhoni supports for CSK players selection in a team? I've always believed that they have been selected on merit.

What is with all these Zimbabwean players retiring at 30 odd?

So many talks going on here about preference,Kohli etc etc but none of us noticed or made a point about the ever useless Vinay Kumar who went over 6 an over even today. :facepalm

Vinay was the leading wicket taker for india in cb series down under.after that he is been out of action for some period due to injury & all forgot him.now selectors selected him for wi series and he played only one match with excellent economy, in todays match he was excellent upto 6 overs with economy of under 4,but went for some runs at the end due to Chigumbura,i think vinay deserved a chance to play atleast two more matches to proof himself.

For me,Vinay Kumar was never impressive. He is just a very over rated bowler in the fancy jersey team in IPL.

They retire because they decide to leave Zimbabwe Cricket for full-time work. At thirty they often have families that they need to support. So it's a decision they have to make.

Taibu was different though, because he decided to spend his time helping the church he's involved with.

It's a worry because most of our u19's players are moving to England to play their cricket. If the situation doesn't improve, there's not going to be any decent players coming through. :/

Agree on that. If it wasn't for Zimbabwe's economy, those players would have a certain prolonged career elsewhere.

Cricket isn't a full-time option, even for the current zimbabwe squad. Most of them would definitely rely on other sources of income.

I liked the way Amit Mishra used to bowl.He should have made his way to the team ahead of Piyush Chawla and Rahul Sharma before. He is currently the only good leg break bowler in India.Still I would love to see Rasool making his debut in the next game ahead of mishra :D Only to see a J&K man playing international cricket.

Great start for Zimbabwe and Brian Vitori. Winning the toss was key as the ball is swinging around a lot.
