India vs Sri Lanka : 3 T20I & 3 ODI: Jan 03-15, 2023

Was gonna say. Is this the new India? It looks like the old one, but worse.

And then you have Murali Kartik on comms saying that India must ‘respect’ the conditions and not try to be aggressive in every situation when the side has been going at a run a ball barring three overs.

I suppose I should be making a longer post in the problems thread but this is the issue, this inherent conservatism that is festering in the entirety of this whole setup.

History witnessed mumbai Pitch helped Seamer not spinner.

SL spinners impressive

If SL manage to find a third spinner or get Jayawickrama up to speed they will have a very good shot at the 2024 WC if the pitches there are like the ones in the CPL.

I do agree with @Ahmad94 pitch might be trickier, so you can't immediately judge (just laugh, Sri Lanka can still Sri Lanka here). I remember one thing pointed out in Jarrod Kimber's videos was that, in Australia, India reverted to type because of conditions. But never readjusted for better conditions, something that England have often done very well. Maybe this is India doing their best in the conditions.

Can't judge India's batting until Sri Lanka have there turn... One thing is clear, today match going to be a close one...

Sanga’s just said that the way to bowl a slower ball is to bowl it quickly into the pitch.

Exceptionally poor bowling at the death from Sri Lanka (rather expected ngl) - excepted India to get to 150-160 with the power of Hooda and Axar at the bottom.

If you know the pitch is sticky, why not bowl the slower balls in to the pitch to get it to hold up. Should have learned from the first over.

India should win this if they ball well - Harshal likely to be the pick of the seamers with his slower balls and all.

One thing I will say though - is that I'm massively impressed by Kishan. For somone who is so small, he really does pack a punch.

If he works a little more on playing according to the situation - I see him as a genuine replacement for Rohit/Dhawan/KL Rahul at the top of the order.

Mavi & malik our weak seamer

They are both breaking in to international cricket - better for them to start of at home against Sri Lanka than against the likes of Australia or England. Its the ideal start to international cricket - if their could be such a thing.

The seven previous T20Is at Wankhede, only twice have teams batting first successfully defended their total.
SA 209/5 vs Afg in 2016
Ind 240/3 vs WI in 2019

Mavi’s bowling ten clicks slower than what you’d want. He was supposed to be quick with his new bowling action.

Yeah seems a little surpirsing - maybe bowling according to the pitch? I remember him being the big thing for India in the U19 WC

His bowling action is super wierd with him looking at the sky when he bowls. Might want to get that sorted otherwise he wont be able to adapt if the batmen moves around
