Indian cricket's darkest hour - The Greg Chappell saga

Sachin talks about the infamous Multan declaration
Players were right about Greg Chappell: Sachin Tendulkar - Hindustan Times

A little disappointed that Sachin still keeps it in his heart. Also reading Sachin's words on what Rahul said to him as the reason why he declared, I am inclined to side with Rahul on this. Yes, India won that game with so many overs to spare, but I think Rahul's reasoning that they wanted to mean business and wanted to show Pakistan that they were desperate to win, does seem convincing. The fact that Sachin doesn't dwell deep into the other issue of whether he was not given enough balls to complete his 200, also confirms the feeling that Sachin was not right in this particular case.

Also I wish Sachin has talked something about that famous Chennai test of 1999. What happened there. What about all those rumors about the fallout between him and Nayan Mongia, how did he react after that Chennai defeat to Pakistan. Wish he has talked about this in his book (or hope he does someday). Also want to know what he felt about Azhar and the others with whom he played in the 90's.

Yeah that Chennai test - I cried & broke my chair in my childhood! :(

Added to Chennai test, I really want to read his thoughts on both 1996 & 2003 World Cup where we were so close to win that gold & Tendulkar being so dominant in both! It is so tough to overcome those frustrations and continue being successful after realizing that 'you clicked but your team didn't click together for making history!'

Especially in 1996, Tendulkar would have made a clear difference to win the semis and am so eager to read his thoughts and throw-outs in his book. Though we won historically in 2011, we should have grabbed it twice already in 1996 and 2003 - I always believed strongly in that.

the highlight is him asking anjali to talk at his house about wedding:D, while he was safely away on NZ tour.

haha yea. I LOL'ed at that. He claims that it was all planned that way

is this when someone links to the video of Tendulkar getting out for four in the final of that world cup ;)

lol forgot the amount of 90s he scored converting them to hundreds his tally would have been atleast a good 20 more
