Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Moeen Ali, Dale Steyn, Marcus Stoinis and Heinrich Klaasen will now be leaving for the WC. Moeen Ali has to be big blow , Stoinis was hot and cold in the matches he played so far, Dale Steyn played 2 matches did superbly well with the new ball.

The South Africans dont leave until the day after the IPL final. Moeen Ali will leave - yes. But Steyn and Klaasen are available till May 12th (the day of the IPL final). Stoinis has to report by May 2nd which means he will probably leave Apr 30/May 1st and that will mean he misses RCB's final league game against SRH and the playoffs (if RCB sneak in somehow)

The scenario is such that if Rajasthan wins tomorrow's game against KKR and wins against SRH in their next game, the points table opens up for 4th spot. And if we somehow manage to increase the NRR and win the rest of the matches, we can still qualify for playoffs.

Numbers from past seasons shows that RCB is the most dangerous team in history of IPL when it comes to winning some of the last league games and qualify for playoffs. They have done it in the past and it won't be difficult to do it again this year. Hoping for the best. Fingers crossed!!

I know that I'm being quiet unrealistic here considering how bad our bowling has been. But after watching consecutive victories against table toppers, I think it would be fair to expect the playoffs qualification for RCB. :p

Very positive for India after World Cup (because he is not the active member of WC team :p):

Every time I watch an RCB game highlights, I so so so so enjoy Parthiv Patel's batting. Boy, he has matured loads in his batting and is a treat to watch. Maybe he might not translate this into international cricket but he is a treat to watch in IPL cricket.

Just saw the highlights . Pooran hit 4 sixes out of 5 through the extra cover region . That too big ones !!

I always felt that RCB would comeback once Kohli hit that Century. And there they are 3 consecutive wins and all of them against top 5 teams. That is just amazing. I believe they might make it into Playoffs. I think KKR and SRH will be the teams to lose their Playoffs berth and there would be a tough competition between Delhi and KXIP for top 4 will RCB might spring a surprise[DOUBLEPOST=1556174518][/DOUBLEPOST]

We miss him in the MI camp along with Lendl Simmons but thankfully we've got De Kock

RCB are not qualifying for those playoff's this year. They have to double what they have done so far and inflict defeats on teams by 100+ runs or bowl out teams for less than 100. All those raising your hopes, take it from me who's experienced them disappointing us for 11 years.

^ Agree. All of RCB's recent wins have been close games which could have gone either way. The fact that they are not winning by huge margins, like SRH, will probably hurt them. Also, it's too optimistic to think they will win all of their remaining games (which is the first and most important part of the equation).

Yesterday, was more a case of KXIP losing than RCB winning. Take Saini, AB and Moeen out and it's a pretty poor team in terms of morale and confidence.

And there goes Steyn out of IPL. Another player, another injury. I'm surprised the fragile K.Jadhav is still intact.

Cricket is a game of uncertainties. When it's your day you win no matter what. Winning close games show that you have the ability to handle pressure. We MI fans are always optimistic for our team and we look to other teams in the same way. What's not happened before can always happen later.

Edit- I guess this entire forum lacks optimism :lol

Dissapointing to see Steyn get yet another injury. I am more worried about South Africa here. If Steyn doesn't get fit in time then South Africa's chances for the World Cup goes abegging

There is certain animosity between Kohli & Ashwin. It's all over social media more or less.

Good to see Varun Aaron back in the mix of things. An ideal pitch as well to bowl that will suit his bowling style and looked impressive picking the wicket of Lynn in the first over followed it well too by bowling some good lines.

WOW! That slower delivery to Gill was peach.

He actually bowled those quite a few but the lengths were way too full.
