Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

India had no business losing the first test. Hope they bat for the rest of the game and stack up their own records (if SL can do it, why not India?). Tire SL's bowlers so badly that they dont want to turn up for the 3rd test. I know India will fluff up somewhere, but this is what the ideal thing to do will be. Bat out for the remaining portion of this test. Bat, bat and bat!

The subcontinent is hell bent upon killing test cricket. In future, only England and Australia (maybe SA to an extent) will play test cricket often. I also see a day in future where cricket loses its popularity in the subcontinent (people will get fed up for run feast in the shorter versions, and with tests declining, the game is going to go down).

One thing bug me from very early that are the subcontinent pitch curators not able to make sporting wickets or the board directs them to do so?

Its not that curators are unable to make sporting wickets, its the negligence of board which result in such garbage wickets. If we look back probabaly 25 to 30 years ago pitches were much more sporting in subcontinent and the reason was all SC boards get their money from test but now they have lots of other ways to get money so they are not paying any attention to pitches.

Let Sehwag get out. India will fold for next 200 runs. :yes

I am happy that my home ground (Mohali) atleast have some bowler supporting wicket (probably the only one in whole India) where I can go to watch Test match despite having less crowds.

But the main question arises should the Test matches in SSC scheduled by viewing crowds or type of pitch?

Many will support first option but I prefer Test matches with less crowds but atleast with bowler supporting wicket.

^ Some will disagree about Mohali. :laugh

What is up with these wickets? I thought Indian pitches were bad but 700+ runs scored at the loss of only 4 wickets?

I am a cricket maniac but have not watched a single bowl so far this series thanks to tweaking pitches

The pitch is clearly not good enough for test cricket. They should get fined to be honest as playing on stupid pitches like this helps no one bar the Boards getting 5 days full of attendances.

The Sub Continent as a whole really have to sort out the pitches because they aren't even conductive to spin like they traditionally were.

It's a shame because all the good batting of the Sri Lankans will now go questioned because of how friendly the conditions are. Flat pitches not only make the game tame, but they demean any individual achievements during that game.

Don't get why curators make this sort of pitch, these goal should be to achieve a result and the only result happening from this pitch is a draw.

Mahela the ultimate FTB :p
