Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

India`s best off spinner gets another one. :p . One more wicket before stumps and we`ll have the game nicely set up.

If they gets 2 or 3 wickets in the first session, than we should think that this game is passed onto the hand of Indians, but hope they doesn't gets collapse.

Unexpected! Never thought India would get a lead after the way Dhoni, Laxman and Raina got out in that session. Brilliant batting by Mithun and Mishra. On a good sporting pitch (also against Malinga), both batted really well to take India to the lead. And Sehwag of all, took 2 wkts and has put us in almost a leading position now. Hope we can get them all out for 220 odd and chase down the total with ease.

Ease? Not really. Any target we get to chase will take some doing. Keep in mind the SL bowling attack is much better than ours. Randiv gets ridiculous bounce and Malinga can produce a wicket any time. We seriously have to get rid of Sanga and MJ early tommorow. Also hopefully Randiv doesn't score too much. Nightwatchmen can be a pain to remove at times.

Also an interesting little contest between Viru and Sanga for the Man of the series. If Sanga scores heavily tom then he will probably get it. But if Viru can hit a quickfire 50-60 odd + 1-2 more wickets he will probably get it.

India dominated the day, that is great, a few quick wickets in first session tomorrow would make it possible for india, try getting Sanga and Jaya out first.
That was truly a great day for india.

I still cant believe Mithun and Mishra took us past the SL total and got the lead. They really batted exceptionally well. The wicket is still doing something for the bowlers, and yet both batted really well. Mithun is a prospect. He is good with the ball (needs more experience to improve) and decent with the bat. Hope he is taken to SA, Australia and England when we tour these countries in the next 18 months. Also with Zaheer back in, Mithun can probably prosper in the company of a senior like Zaheer.

Just hope Mithun doesn't start concentrating on his batting like Irfan Pathan.

But Mithun has not tasted bowling success like how Irfan had when he started concentrating on his batting. Still Mithun has to concentrate on his bowling to remain in the team.

Good one. :p
Ojha and Bhajji bat better than what they bowl. :laugh

Uhh, are you watching a different match than the rest of us? Ojha has been our best bowler in this match. He's been fantastic.

I can see Randiv frustrating us this morning and Sanga/Mahela to go ahead with a big score to shut us out of this game. The spinners, especially Mishra have to bowl a bit quicker through the air. Ishant looked good yesterday and in this test in general. He is looking in better rhythm than he was at the start of the series and that is a big positive for India. If he can keep bowling this way, the wickets will come sooner rather than later on more helpful tracks. Dhoni was collecting most of Ishant`s deliveries in front of his face yesterday and mind you, its not a track with a lot of bounce. So, decent signs for us there.
Zaheer, Ishant and Sree would make for a decent attack when we go to SA, with Mithun and a Unadkat/Umesh Yadav as backup.

Ojha with two strikes early. Just saw the MJ dismissal. Conventional orthodox bowler dismissal.

sohum added 9 Minutes and 36 Seconds later...

What a catch! Sanga gone... Ojha, take a bow... Lankans as 78/5 with all the big names gone. Subcontinent bully Sama is still around, though.
